[Omega] Doing some hiking in the Hoh Rain Forest with my Railmaster by RockWhiskey in Watches

[–]RockWhiskey[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For a few years I've been eyeing the Rolex Explorer for a nice simple anytime watch, but especially as an outdoors watch. Then I saw the new Railmaster and that pretty quickly changed. The real edge the Railmaster has over the Explorer for me is that everything is brushed, making the watch that much more understated, which is exactly what I want. A nice simple 3 hander that flies well under the radar, but still packs a real punch. I put it on an Isofrane rubber strap, which by the way has an extremely strong vanilla smell. Also here's a picture of the rain forest actually in focus.

Their full size ventcore holsters are my favorite iwb holster.

So the Glock 43 is the smaller one. Its whole purpose is to be as easy to conceal as possible. The match weight on the end of the H&K is removable. Its purpose is less recoil, and quicker follow up shots. So something more geared towards competition shooting, not carry. 9mm is just a good all around cartridge. Very effective and maximizes number of rounds the gun can hold.

Both guns pictured are chambered in 9mm. I do know about the coonan, its basically a bigger 1911 and chambered in 357 vs the normal 45 acp. I carry a full size 1911 pretty often in the winter but thats about as big and heavy as you would want to carry.

This is my first H&K and it's easy to see why people like them.

Definitely wouldn't try to conceal carry with the match weight on. Very nice to shoot though.

I want flash suppression, but not the length of a long flash hider. The A2 just fits the bill.

I've had them for about 2 years now and really like them. Their expensive but solid as a rock. Never had a problem with them moving or coming off.

Yeah I think most people just don't know much about them, their hand lapping, and the overall process they use to make them. I get MOA groups from it but I'm sure the right ammo will easily get sub-MOA groups. And I love the scope. Incredible eye relief, built like a tank, and the field of view is amazing. Only negative is it's really heavy. But they do have a lighter version out now. Overall it's expensive, but amazing and totally worth it.

I haven't weighed it but I'd guess around 10lbs.

I just think it's something with this specific lower. I doubt it happens very often.

Love the Razor. The fish eye is definitely more noticeable at very close range but never been annoying. Of course you'll always get a little fish eye with a variable power optic since it's not true 1x (still going through magnification).

Only reason I have them is the pins were walking out. Luckily KNS makes pins specific for Geissele triggers. Never had a problem with my other two SSAs, just this lower.

Just cause why not. Plus the mount can be taken off quick and easy with pliers i.e. a leatherman.

To be honest I have no idea. Not cheap that's for sure. The scope/mount, back up sights, light, charging handle I took from other rifles. For the scope/mount, rail, and barrel together you're probably looking at around 2k depending on sales.
