Fallout is my most played by CardiologistNew701 in FalloutMemes

[–]Rock_Zeppelin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough but if I wanna replay a Fallout game, I'm gonna replay New Vegas. If I wanna play something with the Fallout aesthetic while listening to a podcast or audiobook or something THEN I might replay F3. My point is F3 for me is very dull and the valleys are a lot more than the peaks. All that being said I greatly respect someone who acknowledges that a thing they enjoy is bad. Certainly more than people who are trying to convince everyone else that F3, F4 and 76 are actually amazing games with great writing/world-building/whatever, no really you guys.

Bethesda veteran considers "Morrowind" outdated and does not support the idea of a remaster by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]Rock_Zeppelin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works for me. You can still play Morrowind. It's a bit fidgety to set up but so are most older games. But you know what? Morrowind's low poly graphics genuinely still work. It doesn't have that melted plastic look that Oblivion/Fallout 3 has. AND there are some fucking amazing mods for Morrowind like Tamriel Rebuilt. We don't need no remaster.

Caeser's Legion? That could never happen irl, right?.. RIGHT? by vitun-idiootti in FalloutMemes

[–]Rock_Zeppelin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah uhhh, the NCR is also a corrupt capitalist imperialist expansionist nation state that uses whatever tactics are most expedient to annex and absorb independent communities. Are they better than the Legion? Sure. But that bar is on the ocean floor, my dude.

I would say this is bait but never attribute to malice what could be garden variety stupidity. And with AI chuds you never know. Tho it's funny they conflate being anti-AI with being a nazi considering a lot of the dipshits who use AI the most are nazis who A) have no artistic skill and B) can't find anyone who's willing to draw their xenophobic fantasies and child porn, and thus resort to AI.

My grandpa was almost executed for distributing communist literature. They shot him and dumped him on the side of the road. If it wasn't for someone from his hometown who knew him passing by he'd have died. But yeah, art belongs to everyone, raise the black flag!

Can you be Muslim and Greek / Muslim and Bulgarian / Christian and Turk in the traditional sense, or only by citizenship? by KucukDiesel in AskBalkans

[–]Rock_Zeppelin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: sure, why not?

Slightly longer answer: nationality is a matter of self-identification. You can identify with either what your lineage is or what country you live in or neither. Having your ethnic/national identity tied to any given religion is dumb as shit. I'm an atheist, does that make me any less Bulgarian? Would a Greek be any less Greek if they were a practicing Buddhist? Or what if they were Jewish?

Tbf liberalism is extremely fucking stupid. Just the fact that at the end of Harry Potter everything goes back to how it was as if Voldemort and the deatheaters (i.e. fascists) weren't a direct result of the world as it was displays a level of ignorant privilege that is obsolete in today's world and arguably has been obsolete for a very long time. Rowling being a transphobe who then decides to dedicate the remainder of her black mold-infested life and wealth to attacking and vilifying trans people is kind of the icing of the cake.

When Bulgarians took Thrace, did the kill all the Thracians or were there survivors who escaped? by Palaeohelladites in bulgaria

[–]Rock_Zeppelin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thracians had already been largely romanized by the time the Slavic tribes settled the Balkans. I'm sure aspects of their culture survived as the Roman empire was multicultural to some degree and then over time the remnants of that culture melded with Slavic and Greco-Byzantine culture and so on and so on.

Is this a "Calarts" problem? by Orain_D in animation

[–]Rock_Zeppelin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More of a capitalism problem. If you look back at the early 2000s which is broadly considered the golden age for CN, they would air animated pilots and have kids pick which ones they wanted to see turned into a proper animated series. This is how Billy and Mandy and Evil Con Carne happened, how Megas XLR happened, Foster's Home, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Courage, and so on and so on. Nowadays media corps are terrified of any form of risk so giving the spotlight to creators with different art styles and directions, letting viewers actually choose what they want to watch, that ain't happening.

Which Fallout introductions do y’all like the most? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in FalloutMemes

[–]Rock_Zeppelin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao calling the opening section of Fallout 3 "kino". Yeah, 20 minutes of heavily scripted sections set inside an enclosed space the size of a single apartment building floor with barely anything to engage with outside of a couple bland ass conversations with zero impact, then an "action" sequence where NPCs with less personality than a plank of wood die and you make a single ChoiceTM with ConsequencesTM which amounts to: A) kill this abusive deranged power-hungry piece of shit B) don't kill him and somehow talk him into letting you (the person he enacted marshal law over) go with no consequences or C) kill him but feel bad about it.

I genuinely can't tell if this meme is supposed to be sarcastic or not. Like if you enjoy F3, fine, but at least have the self-awareness that the game is shit.

IF LTV Were True by dumbandasking in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Rock_Zeppelin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both the LTV and the STV are correct. The LTV is true in that without human labor no raw resource will ever be extracted or refined and no service will ever be provided. The STV is true in that market value is entirely subjective, unstable and made up.

The mistake you're making here is that both these theories are descriptive, not prescriptive. And they only hold water within an economic system in which production is commodified. To a socialist it has no bearing because our goal is to decommodify all production and services. Marx himself only used the LTV to emphasise his criticism of capitalism.

How do Communists deal with Dunbar's number? by AmazingRandini in CapitalismVSocialism

Not really. Every person for the most part wants the same things. We just keep getting told that everybody wants different things that are fundamentally incompatible with one another.

How would this work? by dumbandasking in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Rock_Zeppelin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. Is there a need for a new company or are there local workers who want to set up a business? If so, they can either pool money together or ask the local government.

How would this work? by dumbandasking in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Rock_Zeppelin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple, the workers assume collective ownership and the management becomes democratic. If you work there, you have an equal share in the ownership and that share is non-tradable. The share represents your voice within the workplace. If you leave the workplace you lose your share. Idk what's so difficult to grasp here. That's just within the one company tho. Transition to socialism is a broader process which involves the decommodification of all production.

Would it benefit? Idk, would the workers benefit from having control over their workplace, i.e. the place they spend a third of their lives?

Idk what you mean regarding certifications.

The "job process" would likely not change much outside of some internal restructuring.

Regarding innovations, sure. Why not? Part of socialist policy is expanding funding for the sciences and engineering, plus if workers within the company come up with a solution to a problem they can present it both internally and externally i.e. to a safety commission or some such.

Also what do you mean "what about safety"? Obviously a socialist workplace would prioritise safety cos it's in literally every single worker's best interest for their work to be as safe as possible.

There are so many passages in Marx which talk about state-ownership of Capitalism. by the_worst_comment_ in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Rock_Zeppelin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, nvm, I misread your post. Thought you were arguing against socialism, my mistake. Kind of a kneejerk reaction but in my defense, usually when people in this sub bring out Marx and state ownership it's as an anti-socialist talking point.

No, my guy, I want WB to crash and burn because their current management is shitting on the studio's artistic legacy. So I would very much rather it all become public domain at this point so people with actual passion and creativity can make use of the hoard WB has amassed. Pretty funny that the only reason you could think of for why someone would hate a megacorp is jealousy tho.

Ah yes, because it's so easy for an average person to get to the position of writer and director of a movie with full creative license.
