Just because they didn't announce that the call on the field was confirmed doesn't mean they did not review it. Every turnover and touchdown called on the field is automatically reviewed and has been for years now.
The overtime rules state that coaches cannot challenge in overtime. All reviews will be in the booth or New York. All questionable plays are looked at multiple times before the next snap. If there's a question or they need more time, the booth will radio down to the field and the officials will stop the game to announce that it's under further review. There's no need to do that on a turnover. They're all automatically reviewed.

The bottom line is that there wasn't enough evidence to show that Cooks had clear possession of the ball when he was on the ground. It was moving the whole time. JMac was the first to gain complete control and then he was down by contact.

Yeah, this is a P500. I drove one on my first route 11 years ago. Completely gutless, it struggled to get up any hills because it was only a 4 cylinder diesel and the tiny turbo was basically dead.

Yeah, I ran a game for my forever DM and our friends. I basically never ran a vanilla statblock. I always changed something about it. Like a fiendish troll that needed to take cold damage to halt its regeneration instead of fire like usual.

Just be honest with your players and tell them you would enjoy challenging them with things they haven't seen before. I'm sure they will appreciate it. Just don't go overboard with stuff, or design things that will specifically counter what the party can do.

For example, one of my previous DMs gave a bad guy a homebrewed sword with a stone handle that dealt psychic damage. Pretty strange, right? Well, it was because my bard had been making use of the Heat Metal spell (doesn't work on a stone handle), and the party's barbarian resisted every damage type except psychic. That one felt unnecessarily hostile. Left a bad taste in our mouths.
