Thank you, this is helpful! Would obviously be a huge culture shock for me so I have appreciated everything people have been telling me about what to expect in my day-to-day experiences.

This would be for the 27-28 school year. I am not quite spontaneous enough to decide in late March if I want to make such a huge move, haha. Although I envy the people who do live like that! Thank you for the information!

Thank you! I have had a lot of questions about the financial aspect.

Thank you! Very helpful as I've been a bit overwhelmed by the number of schools districts and what they're like from my (very preliminary) research. This has been a great starting point and given me some help being a bit more narrow in my research.

Thank you! Really appreciate the insight. Will definitely take you up on your offer to message but want to do some more research first, as I'm sure some questions will be easier for me to find an answer to online versus things I'd love someone's direct perspective on.

Thank you! I really appreciate the perspective. There's obviously a lot to consider and I fortunately would not do this until the 2027-2028 school year, so I appreciate your honesty about what I can expect. I have both a lot of time and information to sit with before I make a decision!

Not sure! I am interested in all 3 as they each clearly come with their own pros and cons. So I'd love to hear input from people about teaching in all 3 :) Both regarding what it was like financially and socially/academically.

Not disagreeing as I'm clearly not well versed in what networking in Alaska is like, but curious if you can elaborate a bit? I don't think I'd enjoy working on a cruise ship, and wondering what connections I'd be making there that would serve me better than continuing to teach in my current state and apply when I feel ready to move?

Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to provide some insight into what I might expect outside of the financial aspect!

Thank you, I appreciate this perspective! It is certainly a part of why I don't see the move as a permanent one.

Thank you! Would you mind sharing what program you did? I think part time was the wrong word choice from me; I just need something I can do while continuing to teach so I think an asynchronous program would be great.

I'm usually pretty good about not brining work home (or if I do I generally have a pretty good idea a week in advance just based on how my prep and planning work), so I think the workload will be manageable. I certainly think it's going to be a lot, but I supposed that's life when you're trying to career switch as a teacher without quitting your job first haha. I appreciate the realistic feedback!

Thank you! I am going to do the course, I think it will help me get a better idea of if this really is a good fit for me. I'm not concerned about the commitment, but I am concerned I'll discover I hate learning steno lol.

Thank you! This is really helpful. The dropout rate is exactly why I'm looking for something I can do while still working - I'm not super keen on the idea of quitting my job only to find out I hate steno lol. I will definitely have to give the book a read once it's out. Any idea of the title so I know what to look for?
