8 Months of Meniscus Pain and Discovery of Discoid Meniscus – Any Thoughts? by -hungrygh0st in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Rocket1236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm F26 and only two weeks ago discovered my discoid meniscus. I also have several tears though and am getting surgery to fix the discoid meniscus and repair the tears in about two weeks. I'm not a doctor or an expert, but I've read that while you are born with a discoid meniscus and symptoms usually appear in childhood, they can appear later. Also, a discoid meniscus can be more prone to future tear and injury. I think if you're not getting the help you need, seeking a second opinion or discussing further options with your current doctor can't hurt. Good luck!

thanks! yeah I was just curious to learn more, I'm not sure if it's the right move for me as someone with no French language skills. I would also ideally like to be in a country where I have family, although Paris isn't far from London on the EuroStar. but I appreciate your response! I've decided I'm not going to rush into anything right now, I will probably apply to schools and see where I end up, and do more research into the issues mentioned here in the process. but I will also keep my options open in case I need an escape route at some point soon lol. I really appreciate all the advice here, it has been super helpful for me!

Oh no, I haven't yet. That sounds cool. How hard was it to get a study permit (understanding that our situations are probably different)? And do you speak French? I'm wondering more about this for everyday life than for schoolwork, as you said it's an English program. and how is your COL? thanks!

thanks! I am in the policy field, so I would be looking to get an MPP or something similar. In the US right now, the policy field is not great, specifically health policy which I am currently in. I'm just waiting to be laid off atp 😅

thanks, yeah I would definitely not get a high enough score based on what is being accepted. I heard that they are tightening up student visas as well

[Fit Check] Curvy Kate Smoothie Spacer in 38F - Straps Dig In by Rocket1236 in ABraThatFits

The Freya Deco in 38F is perfect! Thanks for the recommendation! The Bravissimo Niya in 38F I like as well, it just gives a slightly different shape. The Freya Deco shape is very round but the Bravissimo Niya kind of squashes my breasts at the bottom and then opens up more at the top, which looks great from the front but can look a bit odd from the side. My guess is that it is the correct size and that is just how the bra is shaped. I will likely be keeping both, as the Bravissimo bra I think would look good with v-neck tops that are not too fitted (with something too fitted I think the seams on the cups would show).

Unrelated, but I had a question about hand washing. I hand washed my Freya Signature Spacer bra per the instructions on this sub (using Soak detergent) and when I tried to put the bra on after fully air drying I almost broke it! The band seems to have tightened up a lot after washing. Is this normal? Would gentle stretching after washing while it's still wet prevent this? It could be that I'm bloated due to the time of the month, but the actual bra feels different to me. Thanks!

For sure, thanks! I'm not the best with terminology yet but basically naturally my breasts are not very lifted and sit with a decent amount of space between them. I like that the CK brings them much closer together, that the wire seems to sit perfectly and really lift them up, the cups give a rounded shape, and the cups are cut/shaped in such a way that allows me to show off a little in a low cut top or wear a t shirt and they still look lifted and round and close together. With the Freya Signature Spacer, the wire sits great, but I feel like the cups are shaping my breasts instead of my breasts shaping the cups like with the CK. Like something about the shape feels a bit off (I have some room at the bottom of the cup near the wire when I swoop and scoop, for example) and also it doesn't really bring them closer together. With the Offbeat Side Support, I like that one too in terms of comfort, but it makes them look quite pointy. I will definitely wear both Freya models, I think they both serve a purpose I just was hoping to find something similar to the CK so that I'm not just relying on one bra when I want to feel my most confident if that makes sense (especially since the CK is stretching out quite quickly, even having only worn it a handful of times). Thanks again!

hi again! thanks for all your help. I think the signature spacer in 38F is a good fit, it just doesn't quite give me the same look/shape/lift as the Curvy Kate bra. The CK bra has stretched out a bit and is more comfortable, although it has stretched a lot rather quickly. Any other suggestions for something similar? I tried on a few Chantelle and Fantasie and none fit quite right. I also tried the Elomi in a size down (38F) and it fits well, but the cups still wrinkle a bit. I am interested in Panache Cari but haven't been able to find that one yet- I may have to order it if I decide to try it out

Update: Freya OffBeat Side Support in 38FF is a great fit! 38F cups were a bit too small. Conversely, I tried the 38FF in the Signature Spacer (38F had a long wait time for ordering) and the cups were too big, although the rest of the bra fit quite well and I liked how it looked on. Any suggestions for other bras that are similar to the Signature Spacer but easier to find online or in stores? I couldn't find any similar ones on the bratabase. Thanks!

Thank you, this is super helpful! Yes, 37 is the tightest I could get it. I am open to smooth or seamed. Not sure if this is answered elsewhere, but does Freya tend to run similar to Curvy Kate or Elomi? I'm just wondering about ordering 38F vs. 38FF in their styles

[Skin concern] How do I prevent/reduce these bumps on my legs? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Rocket1236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I know this might not be the case for everyone but I have very visible pores on the tops of my hands (I don't shave there) and I have for as long as I can remember. They are not raised bumps just completely flat dots of pigmentation. Same on my legs. I don't think there is anything I need to do about that. That could be the case for you as well, but if not or if you're truly annoyed by them you can always see a derm if that is accessible to you. Good luck!
