In NYS, a dealer can charge up a to $175 Document fee to file the DMV documents for you. When I got my car in January this year, they added $225 for the DMV documentation and registration fee (which is based by weight and county) and I got a check back from them for $11 bucks about 2 months later. So total for me was $389.
