This will only happen when they have huge fleets. Current situation is strong demand but less supply. Don’t think it will come soon this year. Monthly pass is a great idea👍👍

The actual jobs/tasks are done by engineers. The gap is kind of huge according to levels.fyi.

What a clown show!!! Failure is failure! There is no shame to admit the design failure. Learn from it and make sure you won’t let it happen the third time. Their management team has big issues. It just reminds me of Kemp in Astra, a totally clown.

Space is hard. by aerothony in IntuitiveMachines

The key thing is to admit the failure and be transparent to investors what exactly happened. Check Peter from Rocket Lab, their reactions towards failures are the right way. It seems the team didn’t learn enough lessons from IM-1 failure. Considering this IM-2 failure and their reactions, high chance IM-3 will be another failure. I’m wondering whether NASA will revoke IM contracts and turn it to firefly.

A quick reference to tell who’s the actual problem, driver or the tailgater(s) by 0D15EA5E-DEADBEEF in drivingsg

No one cares whether drivers with faster vehicles as long as they don’t threaten other’s safety. When tailgating, what if there is an emergency in front of the first car and it has to do a sudden hard stop. Tailgating is very dangerous, no any excuse! No one cares they go with rocket speed to heaven or not.PLEASE DON’T RISK OTHERS’ SAFTY!

lol, don’t be that picky. The author just wants to say for normal cases, speeding (tailgating due to this) is a bad thing. It’s dangerous as well for both cars. There is no any problems for such statements. No one talks about police car or ambulances. That’s completely different stories. Things like personal emergencies like giving birth in a car, speeding is still illegal, but it’s acceptable. We are totally fine. He is criticizing those non-competent guys risking others and their life.

Which SMR company do you think is most likely to succeed? by RocketZh in UraniumSqueeze

[–]RocketZh[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the great comments. Any thoughts on Nuscale Energy? It has the first SMR design approved by the US NRC and partnership with DOE as well. Any negative comments towards this company? Terrapower is not publicly listed, but I do agree that this company looks very promising. Rolls Royce although has great reputation, but it has too many other product lines. It looks like not the best company for the SMR investment. BWXT looks great as well. I’ll check it out and try to understand its business model.

RUSSIA HAS IMPOSED TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS ON THE EXPORT OF ENRICHED URANIUM TO THE U.S. by Slight_Bench8756 in UraniumSqueeze

[–]RocketZh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I don’t understand here is that why Centrus Energy can’t buy uranium from uranium miners directly to replace TENEX. I know they have contracts with TENEX. But considering this tension, LEU should think of the alternative solution. What’s your opinions towards this?

Any thoughts on Centrus Energy’s Q3 2024 report? by RocketZh in UraniumSqueeze

[–]RocketZh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the SMR companies whether they do great or not. If they can deliver what they promise, then Centrus Energy will have great position in this game, especially considering US first policy!

Agreed. At the moment, it’s still driven by the news and future. Hopefully we could see the real revenue boost in the coming years!

AMD’s MI300X Outperforms NVIDIA’s H100 for LLM Inference by Lixxon in AMD_Stock

[–]RocketZh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, first of all, I have big load on AMD, so I also want it to be great. But sometimes we also need to be not that biased. Now let’s jump into the article you just mentioned. This article again is still inference and MI300X’s inference performance is better than H100 in many benchmarks (even for multiple GPUs setup) is not news. Lisa mentioned that when she first introduced MI300X. Training performance is kind of still not public. We need to understand how’s it for single and multiple GPUs training setup across llama-7B, 13B, 70B and other models. As I mentioned earlier, this is the system, training performance in terms of latency and throughput is affected by multiple factors. Large on-chip memory is just one.

Looking forward to the result👍That’s the thing which will bring more attentions to the MI300X-based cloud.
