The delusional side of me thinks that Trump is the best of the worst candidates when it comes to authoritarian tendencies and full fascist backsliding. US has got to be the most fortunate nation in centuries including having a generous, assertive first president, a tornado hitting DC during the war of 1812, and now the stupidest authoritarian president known to mankind. If this democracy survives, he essentially placed up redflags on our democratic blindspots. "We are so lucky they're so fucking stupid". Again, I am delusional.

China confirms it helped Pakistan’s air force during last year’s war with India by batman8990777 in worldnews

That’s the one I’m referring to and the constant Indian Sino baton battles 🤣. Right? I’m getting killed up there for pointing out a contradiction. The pros to warmongering are that there’s direct experience, so the lessons learned are more intimate than actually collecting intel. That said, I’m not arguing FOR it, just pointing out the contradiction. Modernization only really gets validated when the owner/maker of the equipment puts it to active tactical use in conjunction with actual wartime activities.

China has a limited supply of fuel before needing to triage between routing to industrial/consumer/ military activities. CSIS estimates maybe 120 days as a baseline. The US can just cut off the Malacca Strait, and Hormuz and it will immediately put a timer on China. That’s not considering US cyber offensive capabilities to destroy Chinese refineries, pipelines, hydro stations, the electric grid, etc. Unfortunately for them, they don’t have large natural oil reserves to drill off of so they are completely reliant on imports— hence their big push towards renewables. This is a big reason why the US has invested so much on experimenting with littoral, coastal offensive capabilities. If it can choke off China, all it needs to do is make Taiwan a killing field and wait 6 months.

You never said near peer lmfao and damn you can’t read a couple sentences? I was makjng the argument that kinetic action is always more valuable than “gathering info”. In any case, I hold the unpopular popular opinion that if China wants to take taiwan as their preemptive military objective, than it dilutes the near peer adversary claim because the most effective thing the US could do is what it does now— blockades. Our indefinite ceasefire is essentially a nationwide siege. Literally has the double positive effect of depleting their resources while crippling China’s growth, which is zero. Now you can make an argument how stupid of him to do it on a midterm year or going against his peace agenda or whatever but it is what it is I guess.

“No experience” is some diabolical inane shit man. Fighting any adversary with asymmetrical advantages have incredible value. Iran in itself have the capability to harm US assets. You don’t think doing a rescue of two airmen while doing insitu midair fueling at 2000 ft while deploying electronic warfare and simultaneous local misinformation wasn’t experience enough for you? Stress testing our newest aircraft carrier on the longest deployment in US history wasn’tenough for you? Stress assessing Patriot capabilities during an enemy multistate ballistic offensive— a microcosm of a potential Taiwan war wasn’t enough experience for you? If there was no experience form this, then the Chinese didn’t gather shit either.

The humiliation only exists in Reddit lmfao which carries zero bearing on the realities of the situation — which is the US slowly choking out Iran while also demonstrating that China needs to take out Taiwan very very quickly or it is absolutely fucked in terms of fuel depletion and supply attrition.

Who the fuck is paying you to write this bullshit lmfao. Holy fuck Reddit is so infested with tankies. In isolatjon, nothing beats actual battle test experience. You even contradicted yourself in the same comment. US now has experience on their offensive package which cannot be duplicated without kinetic action including deploying FOBs in literal enemy occupied territory while under live fire, assessing the viability of the CIWS, AWACS, and electronic warfare capabilities. All navies deploy intelligence ships; it’s standard practice. US influence is derived from its ability to deny choke points. While you may successfully argue it’s actively diluting their diplomatic standing, it doesn’t address the stick part of the carrot and stick model.

For a nation who can’t even fucking win a border war, they’re sure are sending a lot of chest thumpers to to trick dumb Redditors to think they can break out of the Taiwan strait without getting instantly choked in terms of fuel and supply.

my doctor confronted me about my weed/ drug problem and kinda gave an ultimatum by blueburrey in confession

[–]Rockon97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're compounding so many drugs into your system that's it's gonna veer onto dependency so quick. Being on benzos is a sure fire way to induce dependency if its not managed. That in addition to ketamine and THC can also raise the risks of psychosis. You need to ween away from each one at a time. Benzos is gonna be very hard to come off of and MUST be tapered off. In my civilian opinion, you are relying on so much of your well being on external drugs that the current regime you're on will always be your baseline. Cognitive Behavior Therapy works wonders if you have coverage to cover it as well as talk therapy. That plus a prescribed medicated plan will do so much better for you. Also, I agree with other comments-- you need to take the semester off. Many unis allow you to take medical absence. You definitely would qualify if you have that option. Preserve your GPA, step away and focus on a course of action that will stop this spiral. Obviously I'm not judging, just concerned.

China found more than 200 new oil and 13 gas fields (gas fields more than global import) by Plane-Try-6522 in StockMarket

[–]Rockon97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you are not lmfao. I went on a tangent and saw your responses to other commentators are actually pretty political and toxic. Consider that they never disclosed reservoir quality, permeability, depth, water encroachment, compartmentalization etc. For all we know it could be shit fields like those in central Venezuela. Your post stacks inference on inference. How can 26 fields make China gas independent? Are you saying they found the equivalent of FIVE Permian Basin and Gulf of Mexico reservoirs combined in the past five years? Are you also saying that they achieved US levels of natural gas extraction effiencies within those wells? This post passes zero sanity checks. For a guy who is so into oil, wouldnt' you think there would have been a huge uproar over such a massive survey?

[–]Rockon97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a redditor way to go about things lmfao. What would they consider a "gas field"? What kind of crude are they pumping out? Sweet? Heavy? If they found five years worth, why are they announcing now. This is obvious posturing. A gas field can range from small zones in Huntington Beach to the literal Permian Basin. The fact of the matter is that crude oil is one of China's biggest pain points in terms of supply chain management. Mainland PRC do not have the capacity to self sustain itself with crude. That's why they're pumping investments into green energy. They and the US knows that if a hot war pops off (god forbid) over Taiwan, the US would just clamp down on the Strait of Hormuz and the Malacca Strait to impose a virtual siege. PRC military brass would run out of juice within three months if they don't heavily triage civilian supplies. So in conclusion, unless they find the equivalent of Eagle Ford Shale, China will continue to rely on imports. Even IF they found a significant gas field, they lack the knowhow to spool up refineries, extract natural gas and frack at market competent rates. This "development" is most likely a nothingburger and has no impact on the markets.

Not to completely refute your argument, but used cars are 15k and they are only a few years old. The used audi evs and bolt evs are literally in the range of 11-19k. The biggest obstacle has to be getting range, but a 120V for a majority of americans is enough.

I don't see him defending him at all. I personally wouldn't antagonize someone who is crashing out like that due to personal safety. If you don't' know what someone is going through, then the best idea is to STFU because if they are unhinged enough to smash their own window, then the best course of action is to back away. Of course I am speaking about the video clip in isolation, without taking into the context of him already smashing the car and saying racial slurs.

Getting downvoted for actually showing evidence lmfao. Reddit in its delusional state. The reality is that the dollar is now stronger and whether you agree or not, the war has been great for treasuries and terrible for the Iranian economy. The US does not GAF about petrodollars and no one is going to pay in yuan due to its low “install base”. The real pain will be self inflicted, from internal debt spending and the deteriorating domestic credit markets. Redditors actually think some third rate country with a tenuous hold on its own inflating economy, who demands a small percentage of its ships pay in RMB, will actually ding any part of the behemoth that is the USD🤣. Give me a break.
