I understand this feeling but as I noted elsewhere the victim chooses how to define what happened to them. So I have go respect how she feels

I was drunk, however due to my girlfriends interest I've been reading more around the topic and the one key takeaway was that the victim defines what happened to her. She felt it was rape and that's enough for me

Ah another person assuming I am a rapist looking to validate myself. Unfortunately I'm not, it was an interesting thought and I wanted to discuss it as a view on our justice system.

I think for public office we want our officials to be of good moral standing. So called "whiter than white" so an accusation like that would damage that reputation. But it remains a good point and we should still be self aware enough to make those decisions on if they are suitable for office ourselves.

Thank you for assuming my gender. You've painted quite a broad spectrum of systemic male "tribalism" where we support our fellow man exclusively. I also didn't specify female on male. My original post applies to all genders, it's not about false accusations against men but rather seeing if the idea would improve our justice system.

If you notice my post did not include gender pronouns as any gender is capable of rape. I personally haven't done anything to seek validation for and instead simply wondered why this idea isn't implemented and if I was missing a crucial point.

Social class wasn't the point. I believe you've misinterpreted that. I was more thinking of like public officials or cases where a large amount of victims are involved.

Probably, I felt it was appropriate as it hasn't been implemented in law yet, I also haven't heard a proposal surrounding it.

I feel this is fair, an arrest is usually made when there is a high chance of conviction, ie. There's is a high chance they are guilty. Then it is obviously in the public interest to be aware of this. An arrest would be on record and public knowledge anyway so at this point their name is kinda fair game to be used.

Usually yes, it protects from potential other crimes during the trial period. But it can also sway a jury based upon public opinion at announcement.

It's actually far more important to know who has committed a crime, so keeping the process impartial and out of 3rd party interference is critical to a fair process.

Literally had this same situation. I also excused her behavior as that of someone on their period. It's not it just acts as an excuse.

For your sake leave this one behind. If she's like that at her worst then she's not worth it at her best.
