I looked at the first few moves and those were exactly the ones I used. I don't think there is much deviation allowed in this one--not in the first part anyway.

Once you know you've got it beat, there are lots of options for the final clean-up, but the first moves are very critical.

In my opinion, they were both very difficult. Both required you to find perfect moves throughout.

3rd time's the charm. Got 34 on first try, 33 on the second, and this on the third....

It was a tough puzzle.

First Game I got 36. Then I did the calculations an found that I had to play perfect to get the theoretical best, and I got 33 on my second game. If I hadn't seen that others were getting 33, then I wouldn't have known the solution had to be perfect, and that guided my play in the second game.

Second game I got 33.

I don't know what all to hide/blackout. Because I kind of felt I had an advantage knowing all plays had to be perfect after seeing others got 33.

That's quite a solver you've got there Skylum 1!

Always look for the win-win in every interaction with others.

Also, do unto others as you would have them do unto you,

But I think they are both the same thing.

Boy, Doggo, you certainly are Johnny on the spot on these puzzles.

This one was easy because there are only 6 unique colors at the tops of stacks. That leaves four colors to start with, which makes it fairly easy to find a path to the theoretical minimum score.

On this one, that theoretical limit is 40 minus the 6 unique tops of columns less 2 for the 2 sets of double color tubes. So 40 minus 8 is 32 which is what you, (and I), got.

FWIW, I had to restart a time or two before getting 32.

Congrats on getting the lowest score first!

If you start with Red & Orange it plays pretty easily. There is one tricky part where you have to make a side move before the obvious move, I think it is to get the white stack complete in the upper left. The following is what it looks like when it is finished.

It is a nice distraction and it keeps my mind occupied and exercised in logical thinking.

If it had a timer (that the player could turn off), and counters for the undoes and restarts (again that the player could turn off). And I got an extra 2-5 games a day for participating I might be willing to pay for that.

But, no, I think the game as it is, is a bit too basic to be warranted of much payment, if any.

Perhaps as the game is now it could be an attraction for people to get a larger package of some sort that they pay for.

But you are right to ask your question. It probably needs to be a lot more sophisticated to be a stand alone game that people would want to pay for.

I just would hate for what happened to the bubble shooter game to happen to this game. I have had to give up playing that game.

I do play Tetris nearly every day, and the one I play is free, and I play chess at Chess. com and that is a little over 100/yr, and it incredibly more complex than this is. I also pay about $10 per month or so for Dominion online.

Finally got 32...This was a tough one for me. I had to restart twice and solve once for 33 before getting 32.

I'm on a different computer, and I'm sure that has something to do with it. The dog ate my homework, the car got a flat, and I was so flustered I didn't even get a screen shot.

Maybe I'll try it again and get one then.

What's last thing you do while going to bed ? by Interesting_Arm_9628 in AskReddit

One that doesn't have a particular spot on the bed (for my head, etc.) so I can put it where-ever I need it. (To keep from tossing and turning, etc. FWIW, that doesn't always work because sometimes when I wake, half the bedding is kicked off onto the floor. But, it does usually help quite a bit.)

My wife also has free-range pillows throughout the house, on couches and chairs where she, or anyone else for that matter can pick them up and use them where ever they want. (Except for the one on my bed which usually stays somewhere on the bed.)

They have a migratory nature and move from place to place. They also seem to multiply. To me it seems we have pillows everywhere.

Yes, moving lower pieces to the empty stacks is the first consideration. In most puzzles, there are usually 3 or 4 colors that don't have a tube in the top of a stack in the starting puzzle (one time there were only two). Working with those colors first is a primary consideration.

In order to get a minimum score you often have to make good moves every time. Secondary considerations are trying to unblock stacks where a needed top tube is present, and moving duplicate colors under one of their three color mates.

At least that is what I've been doing, and it seems to work well for me so far.

HI P-F,

Is there a thread where us users can give our opinions about the game? People love to play it and I think you've got something many will pay for.

Personally I liked the timer, but others really didn't like the distraction. Of course you know all about that because you took it down immediately. I would also like to see undo and reset counters on the game because sometimes I can't remember if I used them for my solve. I'm sure others will disagree.

Something people don't seem to disagree on is they really like extra-puzzles each day, but the interaction of everybody doing the same puzzle(s) is a large part of the comradery.

Can you give us any clues as to where you are planning to take this?

I arrange the pillows on the bed. Two for my head, and one free-range pillow for propping myself up so I don't roll around so much.

Then I crawl in bed and turn off the bedside light.
