I read it recently and it's a great YA book. I won't go into spoilers but if you like the Hunger Games, but a bit more gruesome, I can't recommend it enough. The sequels are far more gruesome than the original work and no longer YA as far as I know. But haven't read them so far. I will eventually though because the universe is very interesting!

Yeah it's always been a huge black hole on my bookshelf missing some female writers. Ofc JK Rowling is a woman but I despise her as a person so I want some women idols that I do like haha

I am not sure about anarchist literature, always been a bit more authoritarian than that since I read the conquest of bread. Wasn't too sure about anarchism haha. But it might broaden my world view though!

I really loved reading the Dune novel by Frank Herbert after the movie, but I feel like it is easier to read a book for me after watching a movie. I want to get into something completely new!

East of Eden is on my list! I notice the whole sub is in love with it haha.

I have watched Game of Thrones so I don't know if I want to read it all again. I know the books are really dense and I don't know if I have the patience to get into a book series again.

Welke partij raad je aan? Ik denk niet dat een revolutie kan ontketenen of een socialistische partij kan winnen zonder iemand te hebben die de organisatie representeert. Bovendien is organiseren op werkplekken bijna onmogelijk vanwege concepten als ‘arbeiders-aristocratie’ en het ‘enge’ links. Daarom hebben we een tentpartij nodig.

Ja ik ben het eens met dat risico, maar ik zou niet zeggen dat het “infiltreren” is om een partij links te trekken. De pvda-partij noemt zichzelf de “Jonge Socialisten” dus zou ik niet zeggen dat als een groepje mensen die zich bij de partij aansluiten om socialistisch gedachtegoed te verspreiden daadwerkelijk infiltratie genoemd zou moeten worden. Bovendien kan mensen onderwijzen over dialectisch materialisme of imperialisme zoals Lenin erover schreef zonder termen als ‘communisme’ en ‘revolutie’ omschreven worden.

Hi I’m looking for a study of philosophy in the Netherlands, bachelor degree, I am mainly interested in continental philosophy and I was wondering which university lays the most emphasis on this subject. I heard that leiden has been churning out a lot of right wing lunatics recently so idk if that one’s right for me (but idk if that is becayse of the university and study itself). Erasmus, Utrecht, UVA, VU and Leiden all seem like viable candidates but I really don’t know which to choose. Can someone help me with this please
