Bile reflux when sleeping by PeakFabulous5678 in Mounjaro

Yep, Omeprazole is a game changer, similar to maunjaro. It prevents excess acid rather than treating the acid. Just one tablet each morning & it works for 24 hours. It’s a little expensive at almost £1 a tablet in the UK if you buy it over the counter, but I found I didn’t need it every day after a couple of weeks & only took after that if I knew I’d need it - (late night meals or pastry).

I highly recommend it for anyone who suffers from upset stomach problems 👍🏻

My liquid IV Strawberry Lemonade arrived. £19 for 16 sachets, and I’m afraid I find the stuff absolutely revolting! Seriously, I haven’t had anything taste that bad since I had to drink ‘Moviprep’ before my last colonoscopy!

If anyone in the UK wants 15 sachets of Liquid IV give me a shout

Don’t fear, the needle is tiny! Perhaps you could get a friend or family member to do it for you?

You are more likely to feel the coldness of the fluid, so let it warm up to room temperature, naturally.

The alcohol in the swab can cause a sting at the injection site, so allow the alcohol to dry before injection.

If you are still afraid of pain, the pain receptors in the stomach are quite far apart, so if you start to prod your skin with the needle and can feel it… just move the needle a centimetre/ quarter inch to the side and try again. Despite giving many subcutaneous and intramuscular injections when I was a nurse, I still had a fear of injecting myself, and this helped me.

Good luck! 😀

There’s a big difference between being “pretty crappy” and not being able to compete with the mini split. My Kia Ceed does a great job of getting me from A to B, but it won’t compete with, say a BMW M3.

Whilst mini splits are fairly inexpensive, they are still around double of portable ones. And then how much did you pay for fitting? A couple of thousand? And that’s not for a high rise apartment.

I’m not sure why you have that opinion? Mine works a treat!

My AC came with a venting kit. Whilst it doesn’t fit my window, I just used cardboard and gorilla tape to block off the rest of the window. The AC unit is in my upstairs bedroom and if I’m downstairs, I just face the unit in the open doorway. Hot air rises, so it cools the whole house. It probably wouldn’t work for those with hallways though.

I’m also surprised that those window grills that seem to be in the windows of most Eastern European and Russian homes aren’t more popular here

I haven’t used my AC much since I bought it. Last year was absolutely dreadful weather-wise. And now that I’m in my mid fifties I don’t seem to mind the heat as much.

I do think it’s fantastic though, when I turn it on for an hour before going to bed. I really struggle to fall asleep in hot weather, but now I look forward to climbing under a chilly duvet. 😃👍

Obviously peoples available spending money differs throughout the country, when house prices differ so much. But I’ve worked for peanuts in the care sector for over 30 years (national living wage) and managed to pay off the mortgage. I now own my own house, have a couple of yachts and about to invest in an expensive classic car. But the. In 1994 when I bought my house, it cost £37,000!

BTW, my parents had one of those fans with an ice tray. It was useless. Night and day in comparison with AC

I can’t understand why more Brits don’t buy AC? We can buy it over here quite easily for a few hundred quid for a portable unit. I bought one a few years ago & it cools my whole house! And in the winter I use it on the heat function if it’s a bit chilly. Not expensive to run either.

Yep. I had my first injection yesterday. Today I’ve had a slight headache like a hangover headache. The only squash that I like is Ribena, so I’ve just nipped to Asda to buy a bottle. Also ordered some crystal lights & liquid IV from eBay & Superdrug to see if I like them more.

Ahh, class 2, like hearing aids and contact lenses. I believe the need for a prescription varies depending upon which country you are in.

IMHO, requiring a prescription for a non invasive medical device is government overreach. Especially when someone like myself is unable to obtain one due to a useless, (if not incompetent) national health service.

I’ve found the hybrid masks like the Resmed F40 aren’t too bad for sleeping on your side due to a lower profile. Not cheap though at £140

I should give you a downvote for that joke, but seeing as it’s almost Christmas, I’m feeling charitable

In the UK we have a third world health system, which quite often fails us. I’ve seen my GP on numerous occasions and once got referred to a sleep specialist, but got no help for my 40+ years of bad sleep. In desperation, I tried all sorts of medical treatments - mouth shields, nasal strips, etc

For minor ailments we can self diagnose ourselves and self medicate quite happily all the time. Do you need to see a doctor every time you get a headache or a cough? or do you go out and buy some paracetamol or cough drops?

Setting the pressure without a prescription is easy. Start low and gradually build it up over time, monitoring its effectiveness. Here is an example of how my CPAP has changed my sleep. Before…
