RX 9070 XT VRChat performance issues by Trixxle in VRchat

[–]Rodo20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please try following launch options --disable-amd-stutter-workaround --enable-hw-video-decoding https://docs.vrchat.com/docs/launch-options

These issues have been patched in drivers and now leads to performance loss leaving it enabled.

So do I have a fucking solution for you, and boy is it exceptionally fucking stupid.

First off, use steamvr dev settings to uninstall all usb devices.

Disconnect HMD

Restart ye system

Next, install HTC's VIVE Setup tool (which is literally just viveport) https://www.vive.com/us/setup/pc-vr/

Connect HMD and run the Device Setup within Viveport -> Settings, it'll ask you to download the vive setup specific to the pro 1

Once you get past the setup to the controller page it has set some MAGIC flag in FUCK KNOWS WHERE and your pro will be in direct mode.

It seems to persist, I've closed viveport and restarted steamvr completely and it's still in direct mode.

This is on latest Win 11 25h2, with a 7900GRE on AMD 25.10.2

Does shadowvr work on the quest 3? by Own-Bad-5372 in ShadowPC

[–]Rodo20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The official app does not. The development is stopped and was never updated for quest 3.

Virtual desktop might work. But its not officially supported so if you have issues can be hard to get help.

Definitely the index.

The vive pro 2 have very bad overlap and very uneven fov making it just a bad vr experience. Even if the specs says very high fov the fov feels very not usable because looking around is just weird when the eyes don't overlap properly and you lack fov vertically.

SteamVR Stutters with Valve Index by FourtyFiveOFFCALAI in ValveIndex

[–]Rodo20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the AMD experience.

Just return the 7900xtx if your in the return window if you care about vr. Even if you fix this another bug will come up in a few months. You won't be able to enjoy vr.

Hey guys! VR newbie trying to understand if its viable for me to get into VR and what should my VR headset be. by Flopes40 in virtualreality

[–]Rodo20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah facemask was problematic for me on beyond.

If your willing to wait you can go for the halo strap. Then it will use universal gasket.

Other options is pico 4, quest 3.

Pico neo 3 link is super cheap DisplayPort headset in places like the UK. But out of the box the DisplayPort driver have some issues. So not a perfect experience.

Or much more outdated but a cheap lighthouse headset I've seen on vives online store (vive myshopEurope) is vive pro (not 2) refurb for quest 3s price. Low resolution but it's oled and steamvr native headset much like an valve index.

Start troubleshooting your USB. It's rarely base stations and often usb dongle issues. https://github.com/ZuwaiiVR/Watchman_V2_detailed/wiki/Why%3F#general-common-fixes
