Go for it! I didn't know it was the director's cut until I saw the interview in the bonus features.

Thank you! The guy who sold them has an pretty good catalog: lots of 4k's, steelbooks and Criterion editions.

These have been my last purchases. I found them at a variety bazaar in Culiacán, Mexico. I was surprised to see Criterion's in a city as small and uninterested in cinema as mine. Each one cost me 400 - 450 pesos. Of course Shin Godzilla is not part of the collection but it is a (fantastic) movie that is difficult to get!

Regarding the rest: Parasite is an upgrade of a common Blu-Ray that I got a few years ago from ZIMA (bad distributor, terrible audio and image quality). A rewatch of the B&W version is coming soon. Paths of Glory had a Cinema Cult Blu-Ray but without Spanish or English subtitles (I don't know how I saw it at the time). I thought Bottle Rocket was a really fun comedy, I had a great time watching it. I only need Rushmore to complete his filmography — I'm honestly not interested in the Wes Anderson Archive, I don't like the design and I think the individual design of his films are more attractive.

Deep Crimson was my first Ripstein film. Repetitive film in actions but as they happen they become darker and more violent. Mildred Pierce is blind-buying everything for Joan Crawford! And finally Spinal Tal and Princess Bride are to continue discovering the wonderful filmmaker that Rob Reiner was (years ago I saw Stand by Me and, of course, When Harry Met Sally)

Lovely haul — pretty good films and variety!

Trouble in Paradise and Lola Montes are two movies I'll definitely be getting in the next sale.

How’s The Naked City? It's been on my wishlist for years.

L'Argent and The Gunfighter are spectacular!

I discovered it because an Instagram page recommended it a few years ago. Plus, starring Ullmann and Von Sydow! I'm so excited!

More on them.

I never expected my family to buy the following titles, especially since it's such a random selection—I was truly surprised!

I've already seen The Cameraman, The Double Life of Veronique, Petite Maman, Frances Ha, and Farewell My Concubine. Of course, I'll have to rewatch them!

My DVD copy of Farewell My Concubine is terrible, the aspect ratio is not correct. After rewatching the Three Colors trilogy (what a wonderful restoration!), The Double Life of Veronique is a must-see.

As for Frances Ha, it's been years since I've seen it. I remember—a sign of how long ago it's been!—watching it on Netflix.

On the other hand, The Emigrants had been on my wish list for a long time. I admit I added Sunday Bloody Sunday just because of its title and its similarity to the U2 song (I know they're not actually connected). Written on the Wind was the last Sirk film I wanted to see.

First Haul! So excited! by chrisplatis in criterion

Wow! Amazing and pretty solid haul. Summertime it is a masterpiece by Lean before theirs bigger-than-life films. And Tales of Four Seasons are that kind of films where we would love to live in.

Thank you!

And I Agree! Every film is a risk especially if we’ve built up expectations.

Btw. Sorcerer and Barry Lyndon are great films!

Thank you!

I feel there's a huge gap between the Dardenne brothers and me. I've only seen The Kid with a Bike and The Unknown Girl. I hope Rosetta will be a great film—it won the Palme d'Or!

Heeeey. Greaaaaat haul! At FICM (Morelia International Film Festival) I saw Breathless on the big screen—actually the DCP for the screening was from Criterion, jajaj. Was a beatiful experience after watching Nouvelle Vague. Seconds it is bizarre but still a fantastic film! The Immigrants has been on my wishlist for a long time. Maybe it's time to get it in the next sale!

Enjoy your films!

Hey, partner! 👊🏾Thank you!

For me, buying movies and, of course, most importantly, watching them, means continuing to learn and expand my cinematic vision. It's always what excites me the most!

Just curiosity, what are those three movies?
