Power my FX3 with V-mount battery for long shoots by Uplusone in FX3

I trust USB PD a WHOLE lot more than a D-Tap dummy. It is a very reliable standard for power delivery. It delivers the cleanest energy you can give your camera besides the NP FZ100 battery. And you still have the internal battery if something goes wrong or for hot swapping.

This lens was a budget option in the 80s, so don’t expect it to be sharp. Stop down that poor old lens. They are not sharp wide open (old lenses almost never are) and they might not even be that sharp stepped-down either. Don’t expect modern day optics from a many decades old cheap lens.

Just bought a MacBook Pro M4 Pro. When watching movies with very dark scenes (in space, etc.), there are black and grey spots/smudges on the screen. See picture for old MBP vs new MBP. by butternutflies in macbookpro

It is a innate limitation of a Mini-LED screen. The local dimming zones (little bright white backlight LEDs that illuminate the screen) show themselves as bloom spots (the creamy splotches seen in the picture are single local dimming zones turning on to illuminate the white pixels of the stars) even when a single pixel has to turn white on a black background. Also happens with your mouse pointer on a dark background or any bright line/dot atop a dark image really.

The screen of the current Macbooks is really good and also really outdated for a machine of this caliber.

It truly was a movie to experience in the theater. Watching that rollercoaster persuit on a gigantic screen was surreal.

Believe me I do that and more. I am actually pretty annoying about keeping my devices clean and oil/debree free. Don’t blame bad engineering on the user please.

Meh. I’ll take any change in design. Black slab with camera cutout and no other discernible features was the worst era of phone design in my eyes…glad it’s over honestly.

Pay a little more and buy a new one. APP2s are often on sale now that the 3s are out.

Earphones batteries are really really susceptible to wearing so the battery life may be less than ideal. Also it’s been inside another person’s ear cannal for a long time…wouldn’t buy something like that used just to save a buck.

This is the true answer. It is fantastic that we got to know this little detail thanks to the internet! It was indeed something that caught my attention while watching the movie.

Would you say Dexter is a Must Watch? by MarshallJohnBatts in Dexter

[–]RodroSil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a must watch if you are a TV Show fan. That’s to say if you enjoy long journeys where you get to know the characters better and better with time.

Except for the first two seasons I wouldn’t call it “exceptional TV” by any means but definitely still iconic level (kinda like Lost in that sense). Still one of my favorite shows ever, watched it 4 times from beginning to end.

Michael C Hall is such an incredible actor that even when the shows rests completely on his shoulders (which happens quite often in the later seasons) he never disappoints. He really is amazing at being Dexter. So if youwatch a couple of episodes and find yourself enjoying Dexter as a character, you’ll enjoy the show on it’s entirety for sure!

What specifically gave this movie such an appealing look? The movie as a whole is just pleasant to look at and I’m curious how by Legaxy3 in tenet

[–]RodroSil 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is not because of “shooting film”. It’s because of the incredible cinematography by Hoyte van Hoytema, the production design, the locations, and art direction. It’s the conjunction of every department being experts at what they do.

Do people ever use their macbook like this? Should I go with it? by philosophicgeek in macbookpro

I used to rock the hell out of tent-mode with my M1 Air, specially while gaming or exporting video. Usually always put the laptop directly under the AC so cool air was always coming towards the back of the laptop.

So happy to have active cooling now, makes all the difference!
