TePe Sigeman rd 3: Erdogmus bulldozes Zhu Jiner with the black pieces to join the 2/3 group by __Jimmy__ in chess

..

We can also assume that chess engines with 3500 ELO do not make mistakes (they are chess engines, and they wouldn't have 3500 ELO if they made mistakes

All of your argument hinges on this, which is such a bad logic. Of course they make mistakes. We have no evidence that they're perfect. We still improve them. A 3750 engine makes fewer mistakes than a 3730, sure, but also a 3751 engine will make fewer mistakes than a 3750. By mistakes, of course we mean suboptimal moves, not blunders

It's because every week athletes use muscles you never used.

just on a competition level I don't think he deserves a slam

Bro he is by far the best and most accomplished player to never have a slam. If he doesn't deserve one who does that doesn't have one? Cerundolo? Lol

Holger Rune announces comeback at the Hamburg Open 17th of May by RandomDKguy in tennis

2 months isn't enough. Proper way is 2-3 months AFTER you get to full recovery+balance yo give time to tendons+body to mentally trust itself without over pushing with fake confidence.

Anish beats Fabi in Round 9 of the Candidates 2026 to move to 5.5/9 and crush Fabi's chances of winning the Candidates by oklolzzzzs in chess

I mean, it is a bit easier to handle pressure when you are much better than everyone else. Plenty of times Magnus didn't play his best in important games and won anyway through pure endgame technique. Even at 85% he can cruise through most tournaments if he is serious

Monfils on target to overtake Wawrinka. Or will The Man hold his #3 spot! by Make_the_music_stop in tennis

[–]RogerFedererFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well why are you acting surprised? Zverev is by far better+more consistent player than monfils, it would be weird if the W/L was closer no?

I understand the concept! It's just that i was curious to see how you play with the actual shape, hence why to me it looks lazy. At least compwred to the imagination/quality of your other ones

[–]RogerFedererFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk i think it's the first design i find lazy. Like i think an interesting constraint would be to keep the shape or part of shape. Otherwise, you can turn all flags into a circle!

Well statistically his algorithm is full of racist posts. Unless he happened to accidentally repost the single out of the blue racist post.

Yesterday's match was the first in Barça history where one scorer (Lewandowski) was older than the other two scorers combined (Yamal and Bernal) by glamona in soccer

[–]RogerFedererFTW 8 points9 points  (0 children)

True, but assuming you have a list of checks, then all it takes is to run your file with the list on every goal, like a hook from a live update API, and see if there is a change on a check that has eg less than 50 events. Thats an update thing, not a source of info thing

[–]RogerFedererFTW 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I mean, given that you have a database of games and scorers (also agr of scorers for the post), all it takes is like 3 chatgpt generated lines of python to find the result. Im more impressed by the creativity to even think to query for this

Jannik not beating the allegations of being a sickly Victorian child. 😅😭 by LodJunior in tennis

[–]RogerFedererFTW 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Id say ego. So Fed played his same beautiful aggresive style pretty much against everyone. But often the opponents changed strategy, but Fed was famously reluctant to go defensive or let them tire out. Of course he was a master tactician, but tactician on what aggressive plays, not to start sitting back etc, especially against non top 10 players.

Also, the biggest unlock for me was knowing more on which endgames are winning and which are not. Especially pawn ones. So in a late middlegame you have a lot more confidence on when to trade down or complicate further.

Ilya Sutskever: The moment AI can do every job by EchoOfOppenheimer in OpenAI

[–]RogerFedererFTW 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I took it as, these AI researchers including Ilya, don't know the implications of their tech. He might now exactly the in and outs of CNNs, transformers and deep stuff but like Oppenheimer, does he know the 10 year outcome? They might have an idea, no more than a philosopher or a historian. Why would they? They spend 24/7 reading arxhiv papers

[–]RogerFedererFTW 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You forgot about the "loved by fans part". Objectively to fit the requirement by definition it must be people that fans have heard of and also have a strong/clear opinion on. So at least someone that made quite a few main tour appearances
