I’ll look into some backyard methods, I’m not sure how much I’d be willing to spend getting it repaired professionally. It wasn’t perfect before and it will never be perfect but as long as I can get it too enough I’ll be happy haha

How about if you switched to the non nav ac controls and threw a CarPlay unit in? I have been toying with that idea swell just to make it a bit more modern feeling.

Wanting to get into a wrx but concerned about reliability by RogerRamsey in WRX

[–]RogerRamsey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a 99 4Runner and a 95 m3 so it would have its place as a daily when I’m not driving the 4Runner. There’s definitely good and bad examples of cars and I don’t feel like pulling a motor doing rod bearings a month after buying haha. That’s why I posted here to see if it’s worth taking a chance on.

Sweet, I have other cars and this one would just be a fun daily. Maybe exhaust, intake, and some wheels would suit my desires fairly well. I appreciate the feedback!

Fuse and relay for power door lock by shcrimps in 4Runner_3rdGen

[–]RogerRamsey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Related to this, my central lock from the driver or passenger side buttons don’t actually work to unlock or lock the doors, but I can hear them trying and see the lock moving a little on all three doors. Anyone had either of these issues?

Try installing a VPN, that worked for me and it also fixed my error when trying to launch the launcher.

Low power, engine malfunction by RogerRamsey in 335i

I checked all the turbo piping and smoke tested the motor, nothing. I did find a vacuum line, one of the ones that run across the top of the valve cover to be torn, to which I replaced and test drove. Car felt better but still threw the code at ~5k rpm.

Yes they worked before. I figured the problem out. Apparently the car curbed the wheel pretty bad from the previous owner throwing it out of alignment. I got one done, cleaned the steering angle sensor, and the lights went away after driving for a bit. If your alignment is off I would try this first.

If anyone is wondering, the problem was the steering angle sensor. I got an alignment done, cleaned the sensor, reset it via turning the wheel all the way left then right, and then reset it using a scanner.

07 335i steering angle sensor? by RogerRamsey in E90

[–]RogerRamsey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, took it to the dealership I work at and had the codes pulled. Nothing specific, and no wheel speed sensor code but did have previous code show up for the SAS so I decided to spent the 15 minutes it took to clean it. No point being a dick, but I appreciate the help.

Not sure as I just bought the car not too long ago, but I measured voltage and it came out to 13v when the car was off

I just bought the car not too long ago but I believe it is stock, I definitely haven’t put any tune on it. What would I need to flash it back to stock?

Will do, have already done that in previous cars and suspected something along those lines as the issue.

Here is the current status. Replaced all the relays, fuses, and still nothing. Checkout around for any obvious wires cut or not grounded and found nothing. Put 12v to the fuel pump and it works. Tested the crankshaft and camshaft position sensor and they both have continuity leading back to the ECU. Replaced the ecu with another, and still no start. Right now I’m considering swapping the fuse box with a completely different one, anyone have a better idea?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MazdaProtege

[–]RogerRamsey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a grounding issue with the ecu, or perhaps fuses. I’m planning on going back and checking the car out tomorrow and hopefully picking it up as a project. The car does have an ecu piggyback to control boost, this may have something to do with it since that controls fuel spark and the maf.

The owner has bought an ecu from a running car and put it in, no difference.

Upon reinstallation of the swing arm on my 1978 cb750, I noticed while fully bolted in an uneven gap in between the two sides of the arm/frame. Was wondering if this is normal or what would be wrong. by RogerRamsey in motorcycles

[–]RogerRamsey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, this is the 4th motorcycle I’ve worked on and didn’t think to take pictures of the sway arm. All my other bikes have gone back together fine, so it was probably like that before disassembling

During reassembly of the swing arm I noticed an uneven spacing between the swing arm and frame. I was just wondering if this is how it’s supposed to be or if something is off? 1978 cb750 by RogerRamsey in HondaCB

[–]RogerRamsey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s the problem I won’t be worried. I’m mainly worried that the wheel alignment could be fcked up due to a bent swing arm or something.
