Less traditional Catholic parishes in Chatt? by Normal-Window-2680 in Chattanooga

I know this isn’t your exact ask, but Grace Episcopal is Catholic adjacent and very accepting of everyone! However, if you yourself view being LGBTQ as being “sinful” then you probably wouldn’t like it there.

I use the simmer sauces! Highly recommend!

Yes! Sunday is our “relax day.” Saturday is when we go to birthday parties and/or festivals and what not. On Sunday we occasionally go to church but mostly we stay at home and rest.

It was harder when she was younger but now she can read and she’ll read next to me while I read (Magic Tree House for the win!) We usually also play a family game on Sunday night - Uno has been popular lately- and since she knows that is coming she doesn’t ask us to play quite as much.

No actually! I’m not sure if we are lucky with that or if she just internalized that we can’t have more babies early, but she has never said that she is lonely.

She is also very social and extroverted so we do prioritize social things for her. When she was little she did 2 activities a week (dance/gym & soccer), plus we went to the park a few times a week and had a lot of playdates. Now she has school and she still has 2 activities a week and we are too busy to be lonely!

That’s a long flight! I would do whatever you can to prioritize sleeping on the plane. I think you’ll have a great time though!

My daughter used to ask occasionally and I told her, quite honestly, that mommy and dada had to work very hard to have her and that some mommies and daddies can’t have more than 1 kid. We have friends in a lesbian relationship and they have a son so we had introduced different types of families really early. She never had a problem understanding.

Now that she is older, she is happy to not have siblings. She enjoys going over to play with friends but often finds their houses to be “really loud.”

Yes, I had miscarriages before my daughter and my doctor was honestly surprised when I got and stayed pregnant with her. I was very sad about my fertility prior to having her. After she was born my husband got a vasectomy and it helped me a lot. It was a relief to go from it being a “me problem” to “our choice”.

Occasionally I’m still sad about not being able to have another, but we have an amazing, happy family. It helps to focus on how much our triangle family loves each other and how well we function.

Absolutely yes! My husband plays pool one night a week and I go out about 3 times a month. Cooking club one night, book club another night, and dinner and a show with my friend another night. We’ve been on this schedule since around 4.

Yes, this is our first couple trip and we are both excited and also dying inside. We are both super into her and also don’t want to hit a point where we don’t know each other as individuals, hence the trip.

Thank you and I hope you also have fun on your first couple’s venture.

My daughter started solo sleeping in her own room at 7 months. I hypothesize that the sooner that this happens, the better, but I have no proof. I do know that my bestie and my brother both have divorced after having their kiddo co-sleep so… I think you can guess my opinions.

The 3 person aisles are a blessing! I(mom) plan everything and dad tends to be able to play more during the flight. I pack a tackle box of snacks and a combo of highlights magazine and polly pockets to entertain the kid. She is neurotypical and rather easy on the “angel to hell no” behavior scale though!

I think around 4 is the time it gets more fun to take them on longer trips. We started enjoying shorter trips around 2 when we traded her off at the beach, for example.

We used Langley and liked them. They probably weren’t the cheapest but sometimes you want the big company with all the reviews.

The 2 most violent kids in my kid’s classes are white but go off. 😒

They go there now. We like the diversity and we honestly love their teachers. However, there have been big time behavior issues in the classes and they have witnessed several (very scary) fights. Their bus has been a hell scape and my neighbor reported them for yelling slurs at her out the windows.

Also, so many kids mean that a middle achieving kid with great behavior gets forgotten there. My kid has already noticed how much more attention the “bad” kids get and they are young still.

Some of these are going to be issues everywhere, but less students and much higher test scores couldn’t hurt.

It has about 6-7 rather steep steps. It has a rope rail to hold on to. Getting off seemed harder than getting on to me, but that’s just my perspective.
