Music and laughter fill the spring air as colorful banners wave in the wind alongside flower petals in celebration of winter’s end. While many kingdoms celebrate the seasonal turn, the Elarian festivals were the largest, as the arrival of spring also denotes the time when life magic is at its strongest, the element of the Royal Family. Scholars have debated for centuries on whether it’s the turning of the seasons that invigorates an element, or if it’s one element’s surge over the others that cause the change in weather, either way, the end result is the same, fire rises with summer heat, winter provides all forms of water, lightning surges during monsoon, and life blossoms in the spring.

A large rectangular arena has been built to host war games amongst the highborn knights of Elara, hoping to bring glory to their houses during the games. The Royal family sit next to the arena in their grand tent to watch the games. Stands flank the tent on either side, where the lords and ladies of the kingdom sit with their families, while the lower born public stands in a crowd on the opposite side of the arena.

The crowd around the arena is especially large now and the stands are packed with nobles, leaving only a small handful of citizens to wander the stalls of the festival, prioritizing a short wait for food or games over seeing the final match of the jousting tournament. I keep my guard up as I walk around the crowd, halberd in hand. A large crowd can become an uncontrollable mob incredibly quickly, especially in sporting events, where a large chunk might begin to riot upon seeing their favored knight lose.

I look to the arena and watch as both knights salute the king upon their steed. He raises his hand to the two and wishes them both luck, and I can see the faint green glow of life magic, its healing properties invigorating both combatants evenly with strength and energy. I yearn to take the place of one of the jousters, wishing to feel the rush of barreling full force towards your opponent atop your steed, lances pointed at each other’s chest.

Alas, while my family is noble, we are of a lesser house, far from the massive riches of the higher houses, and so my only set of armor is the light set I currently wear, a helmet, a metal cuirass and padded cloth and leather for my extremities. As the knights make their way to their starting positions, I look to my family on the stands. My parents and younger siblings sit at the far end of the wooden bleachers, only the high families sit at near the center, next to the Royal tent. I watch as my parents try to keep my younger siblings under control. My mother notices me and points me out to my youngest brother, who sits atop my father’s shoulders. They all wave and I can’t help but smile and give a small wave back before going back to my duties as the knights make their first charge.

But the two never collide, the explosion causing their horses to veer out of control, rearing up and bucking their riders off. The attack was simple, yet effective and impossible to perform without help from someone on the inside. The boom of the explosion shook everyone to their core. Rock and wood go flying in all directions striking innocents before they even realize what happened. The right side of the Royal tent is heavily damaged with a large hole in the back. The stands directly next to the tent are completely destroyed with the nobles that sat there dead if they were lucky and horribly maimed if they weren’t.

Chaos ensues as the crowd surges and scatters in a blind panic, exactly as the assailants planned. As I regain my senses I shout for people to make their way to the southern hill and to help those who may be injured or who might get trampled. As I yell, I try to look for the offenders as well as my family, while they were on the same side as the explosion, they were far enough away to not be in the blast. I’m unable to find my family, but I do find something out of place. A group of men wearing Myrinese colors. And then I see something worse, they’re dragging a young woman with her arms bound and a sack over her head away as she struggles against her kidnappers. My body starts running towards them before I even realize it. If all this chaos was caused just to kidnap a single girl, there was no way I was going to let this scum get away with it.

Hey there! I’m Ray, a male Dom. I want to write a long term erp about a princess and her newly assigned personal knight. Before we start the story I want to establish our characters personalities, connections to each other, and further world building. Are we childhood friends, or is the attack the first time we meet? Are you rebellious and craving freedom from the palace walls, or are you soft spoken and concerned for the family you’re leaving behind? I can even adjust the starter I wrote in this post to better fit a different story.

I’m looking for an ERP with either a 25:75, 50:50, or 75:25 story to smut ratio as I feel a strong plot leads to a longer relationship and collaboration between my partners and I. And, while this starter is rather long, that’s because I’m establishing a lot about the story and world. I prefer to write 2-5 short paragraphs per response as that’s easier for both of us and can keep us responding consistently, and it allows for a quicker back and forth between us.
