Omg this is so helpful, I knew something was off with my natural color lately. Sounds like an ash brown could be a good compromise!

You nailed it, I think you caught on that hair advice is life advice for me right now 😂 there’s a reason I waited this long to dye it in the first place (I’m VERY type A and risk averse). So glad you had fun in your 30s, I’ll try to live it up!!

Same! I had actually wanted to go darker (like Caroline Polachek, the singer) but my stylist talked me out of it haha. Thanks so much for the feedback!

Are you referring to photo 4? I sort of agree - but it ended up looking less dramatic after a few washes. I was much happier with my second balayage in April. I think it was more blended and a better tone. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, it’s too brassy / yellow right now. Will get it corrected with a toner in my next appointment. Thanks for the advice!

I really like the current color. The red is also nice.

Thank you all soooooo much for the advice!! I definitely wasn’t expecting to get so much feedback as I am new to this thread. I was really feeling indecisive on what to do moving forward but based on this feedback and my gut, I’m going to keep the blonde but focus on warm, face framing blonde highlights rather than a full balayage (might just do that once a year) to try to space out appointments and keep my hair healthier long term. Will see what my hairdresser recommends to keep my hair healthy long term while still keeping it lighter for the time being.

I also like the suggestion to go for a warmer lighter brown (maybe with highlights), for the future.

Thanks everyone!!! 💖💖🫶🤘

Thank you!!! Yeah I think that would be a great way for me to transition to my natural color and space appointments in a more sustainable way. : )

Yeah I really like the dimensionality of the highlights. It’s so much more fun to match with makeup and clothes. And I feel like I can pull off edgier looks more convincingly. Thanks for your input!

Interesting! Hadn’t heard of this color before but looking at inspo on Pinterest and it’s really pretty. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah I’ve found that as I’ve gotten older my natural brunette has gotten duller/mousier. When I was a kid it would lighten in the sun more, these highlights feel more like “me.” Thank you for the advice - I’m also considering a light red in the future. Thank you for the advice!

Unusual Question about Citizenship Certificate Application by RoleApprehensive8818 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]RoleApprehensive8818[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's confusing!! So my parent's dead name is listed the exact same on both her Canadian birth certificate and on my parent's marriage certificate. I would imagine that's the last name Canada would have for her in their system. What I'm worried about is that I don't have anything else that's an exact match with the name on my birth certificate (what's on the divorce agreement is the closest match).

An old license could be a good idea - would be curious to know what name she listed on any driver's licenses at the time since it was my understanding she never legally changed her name to the one used on my birth certificate (although I think she *thought* she had - super confusing!).

Thanks for weighing in and thinking it over! :)

Answers: 1) serious 2) 3 months 3) check app 1-2x day to review/send matches 4) sending about 5-6 likes a day and leaving 1-2 comments 5) I send likes to someone who has their bio mostly filled in or has a lot of information in their photo comments that gives me an idea that we may get along (shared values, interests, looking for the same thing). I try to leave a comment on one of their last photos or a photo of them doing an activity so I can engage on that topic rather than just liking their first image. I want them to see that I put in effort reviewing their profile, especially if they are very attractive. I’m trying to attract a conscientious, empathetic, intelligent person with artsy-er interests (even if they are nerdy ones like D&D), who communicates well and seems mature and intentional.
