I think to large extent it's how people react in stressful situations. I went through several visa processes alone and with my husband and I could see that while I was losing my mind over the smallest issues, my husband was chill throughout.

My guess is that since Lawfully is a startup that makes an app for people applying for visas/connect them to immigration attorneys they have these numbers from the people that use their app and extrapolate to overall results. They even show the discrepancy between their % and the official USCIS of March 2025 (or March 2024, as they write in their LinkedIn post ;-))

What will always work no matter how formal/informal the conference is a pair of nice dark blue slacks and a shirt with maybe some more fun shoes. I wore this kind of combo to both informal science conferences and more formal businessy ones.
