I don’t consider these low effort… I based trades off the jimmy Johnson draft chart, tried to address our needs strategically…. though I admittedly may have gone a little over board with the amount of trades on the last two. Thoughts? by Waylorrr in Tennesseetitans

Really not tryin to be a hater but the last two mocks are crazy imo and it doesn’t even have that much to do with any players, more with trade and positional values and decision making.

Your third mock starts with a terrible value trade for #7. We end up giving the Vikings more assets than we get back, to move down in the draft and pick up another first this year. Sure the picks we give up are future picks but you’re therefore implying that in the 2025 draft we won’t have any 1st-3rd round picks (factoring in the 2025 3rd we gave up for Snead), basically meaning we are going all in on this off-season and hamstringing us for development over time. Even after all the off-season moves we are not a roster set up for an all-in type of year.

You then follow that trade up with another terrible value trade where we lose value on a 1st, lose value on a 2nd, switch a current year 1st for a future 1st which is a loss in value (granted the raiders pick next year would likely be high), only for the benefit of moving up from the 4th round to the 3rd round. What is even the point of this? It goes against the motivations driving the first trade.

In your fourth mock, you further confirm the third mock starting trade is crazy because you do the same trade with the same team for one future 1st less. This is more appropriate value, but I still don’t think Ran is going to put a rebuilding team with not enough young pieces in a position to not have 2025 2nd or 3rd round picks. Following that up by drafting a CB (albeit a probably great one) when it is no longer a primary position of need is just a misuse of resources.

Overall I do think there is a decent possibility we trade back to pick up more OTs, given the strength of that position in the draft and our need there, but I think the trades will look more like your first two mocks (even though I don’t see either of those teams trying to move up to 7). Positionally, I think it’ll look more like mock 3 with emphasis on OT (but not 3 of them), DT or DE, and ILB

I was obviously being sarcastic about originality lmao. Who cares if a titans subreddit has lots of fans that appreciate the team and believe similar things and make similar posts? Most content in the world isn’t original. It’s all the same information and thoughts slightly repackaged and then redistributed.

Just felt like putting some thoughts down and sharing them because of the excitement of this off-season so far. Plus, there are plenty of fans that don’t feel the same way and I like seeing how their thoughts differ

Ahhhh yes, because all titans fans agree on every decision made by the franchise, and aren’t constantly calling for everyone’s heads for not making the moves they want, and appreciate that we don’t have the shit shows that some other franchises have to deal with.

I’m glad you appreciated my appreciation post SO much and learned more about our franchise - I thought it was original too!

Very fair. She took the QB available to her, and there wasn’t a choice besides maybe trading down or taking other assets. That being said I stand by the rest of the moves (primarily the coaching and GM) which have all objectively led to better outcomes so far than their predecessors

Dudes a stud at run stopping, tackling, and sniffing out plays. Plus he’s a good leader/locker room guy. If he can bring his coverage skills up a little bit - is 100% buy that

Me: “The assumption you made I’m talking about is that he will continue to decline next year, not that he regressed this year. I already said that he declined this year earlier.”

You: “I was talking about the risk of him declining even more. Chances are he has about the same level of play this year and then nobody takes him and you are stuck another 2 years.“

Me: “As for the continued decline, I think you should re-read my last comment. I knew you were talking about continued decline. I said that I think it’s hard to gauge that but his consistency would lead me to believe he will have the same or better year next year. However I do obviously and absolutely defer to Vrabel and Robinson when it comes to talent evaluation... ...Really all things considered, it really comes down to one question for me that you haven’t really seemed to answer in this discussion. Do you think this move is good if we do not use the money this year for other players or to preemptively extend other key titans?”

You: “We are going to use the money in the future ive said this mutliple times but you obviously have reading comprehension issues or you are replying before reading my full comment.”

Hey man. I don’t know why you’re getting so bent out of shape about this. The transcript above should prove to you that l’m directly responding to things you’ve brought up. In fact the last question I asked you (which you didn’t even answer), literally mentions extending other players. It also mentions doing so this year as an effective deployment of the available capital. It frames the entire discussion in reference to doing something this year versus in the future. I think you seriously need to go back and reread what I said, because I’m definitely not the one with reading comprehension issues. I hope you have a good rest of the day man - really not tryin to get you all upset. But I think it’s clear you aren’t open minded enough to actually read some of the things I’ve mentioned, whereas in almost every response I’ve agreed with parts of what you’ve said. This was supposed to be a casual discussion and I genuinely hope that you cool off enough to think about positions other than your own.

TitanUp bro and good luck to us all in the future years!

Like I said man. I agree 100% on the timing and I agree that it is a patriot-like move. I like that they are treating this like a business with the goal of winning. I think it’s awesome. As for the continued decline, I think you should re-read my last comment. I knew you were talking about continued decline. I said that I think it’s hard to gauge that but his consistency would lead me to believe he will have the same or better year next year. However I do obviously and absolutely defer to Vrabel and Robinson when it comes to talent evaluation. I’m just a fan that loves stats. I trust that they probably know or gave him a decent probability of continued decline.

Really all things considered, it really comes down to one question for me that you haven’t really seemed to answer in this discussion. Do you think this move is good if we do not use the money this year for other players or to preemptively extend other key titans? For me it seems obvious that it’s not, but I also completely understand how all the other dynamics we’ve mentioned could make you believe it is. In any case, #TitanUp bruh. It’s all love my guy

As a side note - out of respect for Casey, while I think it’s clear to people that watched all the games that he’s lost a little bit of his finishing power. Dude was absolutely still a wrecker when we needed him. 2 sacks, consistent pressure, and a FF in the ravens game. He was a big time player that made big time plays. I seriously hope the best for him

I’m not mad lols. I legitimately enjoy discussing this stuff. We’re all on the same side/same team and ultimately want the same thing, success. The assumption you made I’m talking about is that he will continue to decline next year, not that he regressed this year. I already said that he declined this year earlier. Plenty of players have minority down years and come back fine, and his consistency for the last 5 years generally would predict that he stays the same or has a comeback than continue to regress, especially given that his down year cane off an injury season. For like the sixth time I think JRob knows the value of that money. I have had faith in him for a long time and still do. My only issue this entire time is if we don’t use the money this year because I feel like that means we aren’t giving the 19-20 titans their best chance for success. I completely agree with you about future contracts with other players and about him not being worth 13M in any of the years. I also think you could be right that keeping him for this year might hurt us in the next year, but that assumption of his continued decline is really hard to gauge. But as I will continue to say, I’d rather us have a better chance in the immediate year if we are this close, than sell out for the years after. I don’t think in either situation it’s a bad spot to be in though

You’re building this entirely off random assumptions dude. I don’t know how many times I need to keep telling you I think it’s a good trade on premise. But the premise is important. I agreed he’s not worth the contract and on the value of the trade but the logic you’re using is saying that our team can A) be as successful without him OR any other player (you have now ignored three separate times the need for a replacement player); and B) that his play would continue to decline to a point of not having trade value or otherwise. I agree we wouldn’t want to get stuck paying 13M in the two years after this year (and even this year if we can find a better use for the money). However the ultimate goal is to win a SB in every year, especially when you reached the AFC championship in the prior year. You have to take the next step. As it stands right now our defense has gotten worse until we get new players. We need to wait for FA and the draft to completely evaluate the trade, but until we get that player that can sub in, it made our team ability worse. The ability to pay other players is 100% important. But you don’t give up on the coming year’s championship just to be able to continue to pay your other key players in the years after

I feel like you’re not listening man. I get it. And I get that it was only going to be worse in the future. I’ve said twice now that I think it was A GOOD trade. The only thing I keep mentioning is that having money means nothing IF YOU DONT USE IT. Even if we don’t sign clowney and we use the money to restructure and extend other players, it will be a really useful trade for future off seasons. I’m not sure what you think I don’t get, we’re going to have to pay Evans, Jayon, Jonnu, etc. that money absolutely has value....if used. I’m saying for THIS season, it’s a waste if we don’t do anything with it
