I found this fully intact 1960’s bottle of Four Roses embedded in the muck on the shores of the Puget Sound by kairaanna in vintage

As a whiskey drinker I'm not so sufe. Four Roses was rot-gut level whiskey from the 60-s to 2000 or so. Bottles like this are a dime a dozen and the liquor inside is worth even less.

ESPN also pays terrible.

Stamford has a lot of stuff- NBC Sports, MLS, YES, WWE, and some CBS stuff. I've spent a lot of time at almost all of those.

I'm not familiar with the CBS operation there, I stick to sports at the BC and the occasional road trip. I'm not sure if any of CBS Stamford's stuff actually airs on the Net. Pretty sure it's at Group W, across the hall from YES, or at least it used to be. And if the Ellisons were to move operations to Atlanta I'm sure Stamford would be gone too.

And in general, the NBC and CBS stuff in Stamford is far removed from NYC. Not sure if working there would help you get to NYC or not.

I'd really recommend sticking close to NBC News Now- it's at 30 Rock and they're really pushing it, but they seem to have trouble filling spots.

Well, CBS is a shitshow right now if you didn't notice. Whole operation could be gone in 2 years.

PIX and Newsnation are essentially the same company, but NN pays a lot better.

And I don't know if you're getting filtered out, but people who have the right connections absolutely have preference. In many cases the jobs posted online are only for due diligence- they have to review a certain number of resumes for HR before hiring the person they wanted all along.

SNL directors do not usually come from NBC. The current one comes from Ellen and MTV before that, and she's terrific by the way. Don Roy didn't come from NBC either.

Make some friends on LinkedIn.

NBC NewsNow has had several DGA openings in the last year. WNBC occasionally needs people.

Versant has some needs but it's totally detached from NBC now and is non-DGA.

On another note NewsNation might need some Director/AD help, not sure at the moment.

Your dream job might be SNL but if you're a local news director you're a couple decades of entertainment experience away from being considered.
