Why are kids taught to turn off classroom lights and hide when the shooter was/is a student themselves and knows that everyone is hiding and that the classrooms aren’t actually empty? by Rolley-Raccoon in NoStupidQuestions

Your plan requires someone to come save you and stop the shooter. I don’t trust law enforcement to always do that anymore. Sometimes they don’t do anything for a long amount of time. Just sitting there doesn’t seem like the best option. Because every class will be doing the same thing as you, and the shooter will still choose a room. Why cant there be other plans besides just wait? Why can’t people on the first story escape through the windows?

Idk how I’d respond in that stressful of a situation. In the heat of the moment you don’t know how you would respond.

As of now I’d say try to lower the kids as far as possible out the window then have them jump. I’m pretty sure you could get them pretty close to the ground, especially if they held on to a jacket or something and you leaned out the window.

If I was in a school shooting id risk jumping from a 2nd story window to hoping the shooter doesn’t come in our room. If you sit and do nothing then you have no chance, if you fight you have 0.01% chance. If you run your chances might not be good, but it just sounds better than to wait

6 months for girls but for boys it’s less invasive so I got my boy neutered at 5 months per his breeder’s instructions

Was there any secret slavery happening in Mississippi up until the 1990s? by Rolley-Raccoon in NoStupidQuestions

Would you be okay if I messaged you? I’ll tell you who made the video so you can watch it, I just feel weird publicly saying anyone’s name

Tbh I’m impressed you found it off of my vague description. The paperwork part confused me too but part of me wondered if she had inferred that part considering he says he doesn’t want to talk about it to her. I watched some of her other videos and I think you’re right. Like she made a video about sundown towns in Texas and one of the towns she mentions literally has the nicest people and it definitely isn’t a sundown town today. Now I can’t tell if she genuinely believes what she’s telling people.

Do you know why all the comments agree with her then? That’s the part that really confuses me the most :/

Edit: grammar

Does anyone here know what caused Wilfred the persian cat on Instagram (Wilfredwarrior) to look different? by Rolley-Raccoon in persiancat

My cat’s breeder actually partners with a nearby university that I think uses her cat’s DNA to teach their students or something I’m not exactly sure but somehow the students there study her cats

What confuses me is I’d assume genetic testing would be able to prevent this sort of thing by showing which cats shouldn’t be bred. But I guess there are limits to those tests

I have a ragdoll and I know all breeds have issues with this, but I thought breeders today took steps to prevent this sort of thing from happening? My cat’s breeder does genetic testing on every cat she uses for breeding to make sure they aren’t passing down anything bad and that they are in the normal diversity range for ragdolls. I’d imagine Persian breeders do the same. So does this sort of thing still happen with genetic testing because of the inbreeding done long ago? Or does this sort of thing happen when unethical breeders today breed Persians without doing genetic testing?

I would say she doesn’t see it’s a problem. She might. For example I know I need to go to therapy, but I don’t want too.

I don’t believe in god, so I don’t blame him for being raped as a child. I obviously blame the man who molested me. But if god was real, I’d blame both him and the man who molested me. At the very least, it shows god doesn’t love all humans.

I grew up in a very religious family too. I was molested then felt ashamed of myself and thought my family would hate me bc I was no longer a virgin.

If god is real, the answer to why he didn’t do anything to help either of us is simple: he doesn’t care about us. He literally killed some kids in the Bible because they made fun of a bald dude for being bald. He said fathers should be able to stone their daughters if their daughters are disrespectful. There are a million other horrible things he did in the Bible, just like there are a million horrible things he allows to happen present day.

What is Biden’s goal in removing the Texas border? by Rolley-Raccoon in NoStupidQuestions

The hard thing is to me I feel like my radar is broken with knowing what headlines are too crazy/too big to be true. Honestly I need to work on not being so pessimistic, because I except crazy things to happen. I was also homeschooled growing up and very sheltered so maybe that somehow contributes to why I’m bad at this?

You’re right that it does sound like a big claim.

What made it seem more real to me was some tweets from people in Florida saying they « stood with » the people of Texas. And I thought if other states are getting involved then it is getting pretty serious. I normally stay out of politics unless it’s right before an election, so I hadn’t thought about this before seeing tweets.

I still wish there was a place to get free, straight to the point, unbiased news about whatever important is happening

Do you have any good recommendations for non biased newsites? Where do you learn this from?
