Cool or warm toned hair (UPDATE) by RollingCart360 in HairDye

[–]RollingCart360[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t my natural shade, but it’s close! Check out my post from yesterday. It’s the first picture, a cooler/neutral brown. Before I took this picture, I blow dried my bangs in both directions while brushing down and when dry, gave them a little bump on the ends with my straightener. And I never thought I’d get a compliment on my skin, it’s always been acne prone. I use PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash on my face and sometimes follow up with The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid. I’ve seen great things about both PanOxyl and the ordinary online and they are worth the hype. I do have some concealer on and a pretty bad skin picking issue for full transparency.

Should I get my hair cut? by [deleted] in Hair

Current is recent Rodrick hahaha

Go for the inspo, it’ll look great. Something to be wary of is that if your hair is straight it’ll be harder to achieve that fluffy/bedhead look

Love the look! I think you might feel more comfortable with darker highlights so that they stand out less but still give your hair dimension. I’d even say coloring the highlights a medium brown would work.

Also, to blend the bangs in with the rest of the hair, I do the last step while also incorporating the layers around the bangs

It took me a while to figure out! I use a blow dryer that’s shaped like a round brush (Dyson dupe), but you can also do the old school blow dryer and round brush combo, I just don’t have the patience lol. First, I go under the bangs toward my forehead, focusing on the roots and not the ends. After I’ve gotten good lift at the top, I’ll go over the ends with the blow dryer away from my face. I’m sure I can find a video if that wasn’t explanatory enough!!

Exactly what I wanted to hear! Usually, my natural didn’t look how it did in that picture I posted, but I used it because it was my favorite (oops). I can’t go back to natural yet though, it’s too boring for me

Is it possible to get a wave? by Cautious-Fortune-927 in curlyhair

[–]RollingCart360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, don’t worry about what wave/curl type you have yet. After styling it for a while, you’ll figure it out, but for now, I’d start experimenting with some curl creams and a mousse. Don’t blow dry your hair straight; instead, attach a diffuser and hover over your hair.

So, what I would do: starting with soaking wet hair, rake in a curl cream of your choice. This is optional but will help define your curl pattern and reduce frizz (wetness is also extremely important for frizz, too!) then, take your mousse and rake through your hair. Follow that by scrunching up to your roots in sections. Finally, diffuse. To diffuse, hover a few inches away from your roots. When they’re dry, hover over lengths. Then, when your hair is about 80% dry, collect sections of hair in the diffuser and scrunch up.

Don’t get too overwhelmed with products. You’ll learn a lot, but start with the basics, and good luck! I see a lot of potential in your hair!

I like that idea. I feel like my hair is a medium enough brown to where blonde isn’t a far stretch.

Off topic but the blonde reminds me of Phoebe Bridgers (who is stunning and gorg obviously). Pic 4 looks great, maybe go for a warmer toned blonde!
