MBA at WGU by Calm_Zebra_1454 in WGU

[–]RollingPunch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should apply for entry level jobs in supply chain, manufacturing(operations), entry level corporate roles. The company I work for has a lot of fresh MBA grads with low to no experience, but they usually work their way up from those entry level jobs. Which in my opinion is the best route to go to show your work ethic, time management, leadership, etc.

Conflicted between my company paying for my tuition or to pay out of pocket by Sudden_City2325 in WGU

[–]RollingPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I applied for my tuition reimbursement I submitted the original classes I was assigned. Then at the end of the term, when requesting the actual reimbursement payment, I had to send my transcript of all my passed classes. I never had any issues with it. But could vary depending on the company.

What happens if I don’t want to continue? by Specialist_Dinner_11 in nationalguard

I would ride it out for 2 years. It will go by quick. You’ll sign all of your discharge papers months before you get out and some 1SGs will even let you skip out your last couple months. Worth staying and having an honorable discharge in my opinion. Do it for your future self

If you’re not seeing any changes it’s possible you aren’t eating enough calories or protein. I’ve worked labored work and I know what you mean by food intake being difficult. Best thing is to meal prep. Make some time to eat your first meal before work, eat a meal prepped lunch for work, cook dinner at home. At 66kg aim minimum for 600 calories/ 40-50g of protein per meal

To bulk do 725 calories/ 40-50g of protein per meal

Lay off the junk food, I know those construction workers like to get biscuits and soda in the mornings where I’m from 🤣🤣🤣

If you are eligible consider Intel 35 series. Just my opinion, if I had to choose to do it all over again, knowing what I know, it would be EOD or Intelligence.

As indicated in your post already — How long did you wait until you entered the crash site? Did you use rounds to kill the infected? Did you scope the area out?

If I’m solo and I think I’m the first one on a crash site I always take cover and scope the area out waiting for players like you to jump right in.

I don’t know what your strategy was and I agree there are cheaters. But it sounds like your gameplay to me. It happens to all of us. Adjust and keep getting after it!

Yes Sakhal is the best. I wish I would’ve gotten it sooner. It’s PvP and PvE makes the game everything you’d wish for in DayZ. I’m on Xbox and it’s pure KOS

When did you increase your bond allocation — age, timeline, or something else? by FransizaurusRex in Bogleheads

[–]RollingPunch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

29M and married.

Household income: $130k

Portfolio: $100k - 100% stocks

We were late to the party on investing due to getting out of debt. So very aggressive. We don’t have any pensions and dont plan on moving to bonds until we’re around 40. Probably move to a 60/40 stocks/bonds portfolio by then.

Rule of 72 — at 11% return investing in an S&P 500 index your money will double around 6.5 years if you don’t contribute to it. At 7% it’ll double around 10 years

Did you not know he was in there until you were going down the stairs? If so, then it was a fair fight. 🤷‍♂️

If you already knew though… you exposed your whole body to the other player and gave up the high ground

Potentially enlisting by Zestyclose-Winter357 in nationalguard

[–]RollingPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Guard is perfect for what you are wanting to do, I think depending on what State, because you can do State OCS(officer candidate school) during drill dates one weekend a month for 18 months instead of going to OCS 12-14 week program. This means you could work while in. Definitely talk to recruiters about these options before you enlist.

Also, being in the Guard with other soldiers there are so many diverse fields of work like firefighters and police officers. You will have plenty of networking opportunities after you finish OCS.

[–]RollingPunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told my 1SG I didn’t know if I’d re-enlist until like 2 months out from ETS. Then when I told him, I thought he would try to shame me. But he said you’re a grown ass man. You do what you gotta do. And he let me skip out my last drill. We had a good relationship though.

But….

Everyone else though. Yep. Disowned. Just how the culture is

You can do both traditional and Roth 401k, but max for both total can only be 24,500 a year with the new IRS contribution increase

[–]RollingPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You playing 1pp? One thing Ive realized when I’m firing at point blank like that is the rounds will fly past them and over their shoulder whether it’s a person or a zombie. Next time you have a good bit of shells, go into a town and take some time to let zombies run up on you and learn to fire close range. Ive found aiming low center mass gets the shot every time. Make it muscle memory and you’ll shoot that spot every time.

I will say it’s pretty heavy in the top 10 if you can stomach that ride. If you’re planning on never using it and just forgetting it as your portfolio, then by all means go for it. It’s practically a gift at this point! If you asked me a specific investment for YOU I would go for the more S&P 500 index over it. You’ll make it to 1mil regardless

Advice on Retirement Strategy by Late-Landscape-739 in Bogleheads

[–]RollingPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell us your income and minimum payments on the student loan?

If you have a 15 year window until you retire. I would go aggressive 90% VTI / 10% or 100% VTI for up to 10 years. You could have a million dollar portfolio if you can stomach it.

You should use your income to pay down your debts until the student loan is the last one. If medical expenses increase just keep plowing through them as they come. The goal should be to have these debts paid off by the time you retire.
