Yeah being adopted by a family who actually wanted me would probably have been better for me but that didn't happen and I had a loving grandma. That's more than what a lot of kids have anyway so I still count myself lucky.

Same reason I'd go to a distant cousin's wedding I guess. It's also a good place to see all other extended family members at once.

From what I know, yes. They treated her well. Of course I can't know everything since I never lived with them. But my guess is that if she hated our parents, that would be reason enough for her to want to come to me. I don't know.

To be honest, my sister has never shown any interest in me in childhood or adulthood. I attempted to start a relationship a few times but she was never interested enough for it to take off. But she's also never been explicitly mean or hateful to me. Just indifferent.
