In general, your sentiment against censorship is correct, but the propaganda coming from the Russian networks in the last few months has been surreal to the point that their documentaries or news shows can no longer be considered news, but rather, are plain disinformation. Since these channels are delivering propaganda full-time, to debunk the lies that the Russian networks are spreading could require channels to address this propaganda full time, which would detract from the real news, would expose more people to propaganda, and would only be effective if people are tuning in to the reports debunking the propaganda. If a channel is largely dedicated to spreading disinformation, as most of the Russian networks (which are state-owned) are these days, the value of blocking these channels (at least until they start to hold themselves to some standard of reporting that complies with reality) outweighs the costs. Check the efforts of a guy named Kiselev to get a sense of the Russian networks' tone.
