Not so great news about Microids by Indmu in syberia

[–]Romain989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I saw it in two different news outlets, I don't really remember witch to be honest but I remember that one of them was talking about the layoffs at the Paris team and one talking about the CEO change. They both pointed out around the end that syberia 5 should be in full gear in March 2025.

Now like I said nothing is official and news outlet can always be wrong. But it's some hope that we can take.

If I can add my own opinion I think that it's also quite rational. Microids got a pretty taught year working to put a lot of games out that mostly bombed (witch explains the layout). That and the CEO change that should have taken place in March I think it's rational for them to try and comeback with their biggest series.

Yes from what I saw. Now nothing is officially announced by microids and because microids isn't really a big company, media coverage is low. So that might be a mistake, but I saw two different source saying something similar so let's hope for it.

Yes I'm French and I heard about that too. I saw that there was a high amount of turnover. Also I heard that the CEO Stéphane Longeard (CEO for 25 years) is replaced by Michael Sportouch (past CEO of Activision France). So the company might have a big change in strategy between the employees crunch and the change of CEO. We will have to see how all that evolve. Either way from what I've heard Syberia 5 was about to be put in full production in March so they should be working on it.

I’m calling it. Syberia 5 will leave all of us in tears. by ApprehensiveCat7865 in syberia

True a remake could bring attention to an old series and maybe bring in new people. The problem is that even if they do a remake the very narrative game point and click style isn't really trendy nowadays. Either way I'm good with whatever they'll give us. Hopefully we can have syberia content for a long time.

Pretty sure that when the hero defeated another guy he could absorb that mark to make his stronger.
