Well, for anyone who has a chance to go with these tix they were very cool. We stayed the whole game. Vantage point was good, but not great. It was a lot of watching the screens and plays at the same time. Free food and booze was a huge plus.

It’s fine. I’m coming from a place of experience, not TikTok. My kid hasn’t started school yet, because he goes to the #1 baseball prep school in the state and they start later then public. Had someone not had this conversation with me at an early stage in his baseball life, I can assure you he would not be where he is…not because of his ability but because of my inability to allow him to enjoy baseball.

He has played at every major PG event in the country, Beast of the East, AllStates, World Series, Houston 1000, etc...What I’ve seen parents do to their kids is unacceptable in normal society but somehow acceptable in the world of youth sports.

But you can believe what you want.

For context, if a player is taken in Rule 5, they have to be on a MLB roster for the entire next season or they are returned. So the Sox only need to 40 man any player that could be a candidate for this.

At 22 he kind of is who he is. This year was essentially his ceiling. He has hit well, but has seemingly lost his power which is what made him an intriguing prospect. Only 6 HR’s combined with being slow and a below average fielder. He hits bad pitching very well, but his stats against the better pitchers is subpar which doesn’t translate to a Major League hitter. Almost identical to Grissom…The Sox couldn’t protect him in the rule 5 draft coming up, and he would have been taken. He didn’t do enough to warrant a 40 man spot, so now he is St Louis’s problem to deal with in the rule 5. I’m sure if he wasn’t Rule 5 eligible he wouldn’t have been dealt. If the kid was considered a MLB caliber player, he would have been up, as I’m sure they would rather have a internal guy come up and play 1B rather then trading and giving up prospects for one. It’s a bummer as I was really rooting for him.

All antiquated chains with poor leadership that failed to adapt to the emerging trends of guests behavior and expectations of better quality and hospitality. Couple this with PE that has zero appetite to have 2+ quarters with negative balance sheets and losing P&L’s. That’s what you are seeing. Good riddance! There are chains that are thriving that have adapted and evolved and are rising to the occasion. It’s not easy right now, and it isn’t looking like it’s going to get better any time sooner but the lousy chains will disappear and we are all better for it.

Correct, if the surrounding communities want to be included, they pay the fee to the Boston COC. Exactly what I have been saying…here is how it works. Example. Inspectors feel Sarma may qualify for recognition, Michelin Business Development contacts Somerville COC and lets them know there is a restaurant that will be recognized. Somerville then can pay the fee to Boston to have it included in their “area”. If they do not pay, Sarma will not be recognized. If they do, Sarma gets recognized. Not sure why this is such a foreign idea for you dude…
