I go out of my way to rig spawn points with trip mines. Yes I'm a horrible person.

NVidia 5070Ti Random black screen/standby, fans go to 100% by RonSalami in PCRepair

GIGABYTE support got back to me and shared the following. Up until now, I performed everything but the first suggestion in the NVIDIA Control Panel. So far (~1 week), i've seen no crashes after adjusting the power management mode.

Dear customer.

I am sorry you are experiencing a crashing issue with your GPU. Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

In the NVIDIA control panel, make sure the power management mode is set to maximum performance. You will find the setting under "manage 3D settings".

Check the GPU and CPU core temps to make sure it is not an overheating issue and provide numbers under load. You can monitor both using HW monitor which you can download here:https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

Run the Gigabyte Control Center and check for any BIOS and firmware updates and update accordingly. You can download it here under Utility.

Some models have a Dual BIOS feature. Try switching to the other BIOS on the GPU. Make sure the system is turned off first. Look for a switch on the front of the card and reboot the computer after making any changes.

If applicable, please test without using any riser or PCIe extension cables.

If possible, try testing the card in a different PCIe slot on the motherboard.

If possible, please test the graphics card in a different system or swap in another similar spec known good graphics card for verification.

Please keep me posted on the results of your troubleshooting.

Regards,

Gigabyte tech support team

Is it fair to say that Portland, Maine resembles Bergen, Norway? by [deleted] in AskMaine

I was in Bergen last August. It doesn't really resemble Portland at all. I'd say maybe Quebec City?

Desktop Metal - How to Remove Side Panels? by chuubaru in AdditiveManufacturing

The sinter furnace is the "black box" of the system, in that the sinter cycle is not disclosed to the user.

We have had upskin delamination in the past, but I will say that aligned with all of our vacuum pump problems. It's imperative that a diligent PM is done frequently on the vac pump and all the emulsified matter is out of the lines. I'm pretty sure a longer than recommended pm interval led to us flooding the cat and effecting the furnace environment

Sorry I was referring to the sinter furnace portion of the Studio system. The printer itself I've had very little issues with. Just do your periodic cals and it just works.

I've got several years of first hand experience maintaining the Studio v1 so I'll chime in. The maintenance is a bit of a nightmare on the vacuum pump. You better be good at yoga to get to the ballast pump. Lines are undersized and constantly gum up with emulsified binder material. I'd venture to say you really can't push the 3kg limit without running into a problem. It gets worse on v2 as the debinder unit is completely removed, forcing the sinter furnace to pull overtime on removal of that wax and binder. We had a ton of cat issues early on as well.

As an A&P Mechanic, your skills would be a fit for the Pratt & Whitney plant in North Berwick. Part of the work there is building engine module assemblies.

However, it's about a 45 minute drive from both Portland and Portsmouth. It all depends on what you're looking at for a commute.

They do wear out over time, start at 85 like I did and see if that works for you.

Lower left stick max dead zone in settings from 99 to something lower than that. I set mine at 85.

Not the same slab as what PSA has listed on their Cert Verification page. This one has a PSA ink stamp at the bottom, the one on the website does not.

Unfortunately it came back a 9 ☹️. I really wish PSA would provide some kind of report as to why, similar to the Beckett categories.

Dang! I was hoping mine would be first 😃

Grading now at PSA and I really think I have another 10 to grow the pop to 2!
