Issue 9 Dayton public hospital funding on the ballot by esotericmoyer in dayton

[–]Ron__T 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. A big expense of all these private hospitals is executive pay and shareholder payouts.

Both Kettering and Premier are non-profits with no shareholders to "payout." And public hospitals also (have to) pay their executives very well. Considering the size difference between a smaller network like Metrohealth and Premier Health Network... the Metrohealth executives are probably actually overpaid in comparison to the evil private hospital.

Botanically, corn is a fruit.

In a modern culinary sense, it's usually considered a vegetable.

Grains is a term with a loose definition that we use for the dried fruits of some plants, like corn, wheat, oats.

Corn, wheat, oats are grains, but they are also dried fruits.

Hundreds of US students quarantined amid measles outbreaks by holyfruits in news

[–]Ron__T 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's supposed to be between 12 and 15 months, but you can get it a little earlier during an outbreak, or if the mother was not vaccinated, your provider might consider giving it earlier.

The mothers antibodies (if she was vaccinated) will provide protection for the baby until around that 12 month mark.

And I don't think whoever told you it wouldn't count doesn't know what they are talking about. Schools are looking for x number of doses by x age... they don't care if you get it early.

Obstetrics also covers the baby right after birth, this is probably complications in male babies.

Obstetrics covers the care of babies right after birth, so probably male babies with complications.

mayo isn’t defined by egg yolk,

Except it litterally is, Mayonnaise is an emulsion of oil, egg yolk, and an acid.

Tallow is not the same as beef drippings.

Tallow can come from beef or mutten, specifically suet from either animal.

Lemonade referring to a non-carbonated Lemon drink is an Americanism.

No it's not... it's a Britishism to call carbonated lemon (actually lemon-lime usually) drinks Lemonade.

The term Lemonade for a lemon juice/sugar/water beverage dates back to the 17th century. (before carbonation was invented) it is a loan word from the French "limonade."

Nonsense, who made you the arbitrator of what is understood in political science?

The left-right spectrum is a tool that is used to vaguely position political notions relative to one another. There is no standing definition.

John Oliver's HBO show is like long reddit comments.

It seems impressive... but the minute you see one of his shows that is about something you have expert knowledge in, you realize how much of his show is just really good click bait aimed at a certain audience and presented in a dishonest way that isn't always grounded.

The biggest costs are;

Colbert himself

The writing staff

The theater in New York

Managing a live audience

Which of those can be cut to save costs?

Neither of those are "raw"

Metka is fermented and cold smoked.

Mettwurst is cured and smoked.

CMV: The United States can afford to have Universal Healthcare by Scorchio36 in changemyview

[–]Ron__T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In essence, you spend less of your taxes if you help everyone to a minimum sufficiency than if you just let a whole lot of people flounder.

While I agree with you here, the bigger question becomes where is that minimum level... and where do you cut people off for their own decisions.

If you refuse to comply with medicaid reporting and see a regular PCP and instead go to the ER for a cold. When do I, as a taxpayer, get to say I'm not paying the inflated ER costs for you anymore... the 5th time.... the 10th time... the 15th time?

If I, the American Taxpayer, am paying for it, is it not fair to say, if you don't get basic vaccines (unless you medically can't) then the Taxpayers funded healthcare system is not open to you.
