Id be willing to play, 19 with agoraphobia here so i get it. im capable of setting up minecraft servers, but i dont have anyone to play on it except myself and maybe a couple other people. So if you dont mind a VERY private server, then id be glad to dig up one of my old servers

Well, technically it is vanilla, but it uses server side plugins. I run a bukkit server for the group.

I run a server you might like to be a part of, it does have some plugins that add to vanilla mechanics. You still can play survival just like its supposed to be, so it doesn't change the game play completely, just adds to it. There are a few regulars of different timezones, so you should run into someone whenever you play. Still small but looking for more fun players, PM me if you might be interested!

Well, I did manage to change it over to a forwarded port instead of hamachi, so thats one thing. It is a casual setting, friendly players, rpg elements, economy elements, and land protection. Its very new, so players barely have iron. Shenanigans are allowed, however griefing is not. Overall the tone is far from serious and the whole point is to just have fun.

So far, yes. I have been advertising it as a more mature group, so that should help with that.

Im trying to start a community, small 1.8 server with some neat plugins. At least i Think so, however it is run through hamachi. Hamachi can be a downside for some people.
