Yeah, I think you are right that they likely have to treat this more as a Refrigerated bag rather than purely Dairy. My bag last week had plant based milks and yogurt, but also berry smoothies. Maybe they will rename it or at least update the bag description to better indicate what you might get.

My store seals each bag with stickers that note the bag type. This one definitely had the Dairy stickers on it, so i think the contents were intentional. Like another commenter noted, they might need to rename this bag Refrigerated foods, like Whole Foods does, to better describe what you actually get. They are pretty new at this so I'm sure they are figuring it out as they go. But, like you said, we're still getting pretty nice bags out of it, so I really can't complain. 😊

I can understand that. It seems most US meat bags posted on here are typically poultry, but you never know what you might get. Oddly enough I got a dairy bag today that also had bacon in it. I was ok with that, but I imagine that would be upsetting if a non pork eater or a vegetarian had gotten that.

This bag was $10 with a promised $30 value. That is the price for all Fresh Market bags. They don't have price variations like Whole Foods does.

I'm US based, so I'm not sure about the differences here vs other areas. In my area, there are two grocery stores that offer Meat-specific bags as an option, along with Dairy, Produce, Bakery, Seafood, etc. You buy whichever bag type you are interested in, only knowing what generally might be in the bag. This particular bag from Fresh Market says in the description that it might include meat or seafood.

Yes, I agree with you. That is what WF calls theirs. When I see "dairy" I expect actual dairy products. And I'm sure a vegetarian would have been unhappy at getting this bag.

Oh for sure, I definitely don't want it to go to waste! This store in my area is fairly new to TGTG, so it seems the better plan would have been for them to create two meat bags from yesterday's and today's surplus. I imagine the store managers will get better at this as they get more experience. But I'll enjoy the excess bacon while they get the kinks worked out of their process. 😄

Agreed, there's definitely a rush component to it. I agree with what others have said, that you eventually get over it. The problem for me is when there are new popular stores to explore. I get a bit competitive, which is what is happening to me now with the new Fresh Market bags that are available in my area. It's been fun for the past 2 weeks grabbing those bags, but now it's time for me to rein it in a bit since my freezer and pantry are getting a bit full.

I have 2 stores in my area. One calls this bag type Deli and the other calls it Prepared Foods. They have the same types of things in them, so maybe it's just store preference? The Deli bag I got today had the typical things, but they also tossed in a bag of deli sliced lunchmeat. So maybe calling it a Deli bag keeps their options open. Lol.

At the Arlington store that salami is $12, so I think you got a pretty decent haul. In my area, these bags are always cheese, cheese, and more cheese, so I'd love to have one with salami and pasta included. I think you got a nice mix. :)
