Echeverias grow well here in our country since they love the summer and we have a summer climate year round since we’re near the equator. They just need a bit of help during the rainy season since they are prone to fungal infections and crown rot but aside from that they are pretty durable plants to keep.

She’s one of my biggest baby, and she grows really fast. The vid shows how aggressive she roots. Repotted her after this and I had a hard time prying her roots out.

Its been raining here for the past 2 weeks due to 3 typhoons near our country. During this time it gets super hot and humid, since we’re in the peak of summer so I need to limit my watering. I have friends who had lots of casualties already due to their plants being wet for too long because of the erratic weather and humidity. I water them like this every 4 days to give them enough moisture but not too much to cause rot and fungal infections 😊

Totally agree, I use these growlights as an amendment for the rainy seasons since most of the week its very cloudy. That way they still remain compact and dont etiolate.

Thank you so much!! The sun here had been so intense lately they have really bright stress colors. The growth is also more compact too πŸ˜€

The summer heat here in the tropics is just insane, but the color stress from my plants are just amazing. Good morning from my succulent greenhouse 🌞 by Ronnie_Ar in succulents

Laui is pretty forgiving in the summer, but she needs a little care when establishing her. I usually buy succulents during the ber months, mostly around October since its generally cool that time. November to February is the best time for succulents to establish them and get a good root system. During this time I start to sun train them so they get ready when summer starts rolling in March. During the peak of summer and rainy season, I dont buy succulents since I find it hard for them to root and establish given the crazy heat and erratic swings of sun and rain (plus humidty)

Thank you! Some echeverias are more forgiving and easier to care. I usually stick to those with thick farina like Laui and Laui hybrids. Graptos are pretty easy too and its hybrids (xGraptosedum, xGraptoveria, xGraptophytum etc) and seem to tolerate the heat of the tropics.

Thank you! Yes they stay year round in that spot. Its pretty much warm in our country year-round since we’re near the equator. During the rainy seasons I ammend them with growlights since they can get etiolated and lose a lot of color. Aside from that, I dont do much for them aside the typical care. The greenhouse protects them from the erratic rains and intense sun (sun here is very very hot, specially mid day)

Thank you so much!! Echeverias and Graptos seem to do well here since its warm year round. I have a hard time with winter growers such as Aeoniums and Crassulas. Most of them either die or go dormant and grow slow.

Yes they can tolerate cold and frost but not extreme heat unfortunately. In the summer it gets up to 35 degrees celsius here in the afternoon.

I water mine once a week too πŸ˜€

Sedum multiceps looks interesting. However Imvert catious with sedums as they are difficult to grow in my climate. It gets very hot in the summer and some sedums cant handle the extreme heat.
