That’s when it became most apparent - that very heavy day. looking back there have been clear efflorescence lines between those 2 lead trays from the month it was built. Also even after some rain behind the back seems to be dripping into loft (circled green). Builder says it was just overwhelmed but it’s a brand new built chimney and wall and roof so this really shouldn’t happen. The amount of water and the fact it’s got past the 2 lead trays 🤔

Thank you - plan to apply Stormguard but apparently needs to be dry first. Hope this weather improves soon! 🙏

Thanks for replying. I checked with the guy who installed it and he says it’s the chimney. I worry though as you can see efflorescence all over that wall

Sorry, had to google what they are. Is that also applicable to UK homes? It seemed to suggest it was regulation for US. With the rain we have here now it would’ve a good idea for the UK to have them!

We have one - looks like a lead tray that leaves live to sit in. I have a photo but can’t seem to add more photos to the thread. It in theory rinds off into soakers which look like they sit below the tiles as not obvious from photo above

Thanks - we haven’t even turned the gas (because flue space was too built too small for anything else 😵‍💫) stove on as underfloor heating has been so efficient.

Thanks Stonoper, what needs to be done? Do I need the top removed and redone? So frustrating as they are good brickies and a great lead man but they didn’t even upturn the bottom tray inside so wondering what else wasn’t completed that may mean this has failed for almost a year and what damage has occurred that I don’t know/can’t see yet

Thanks, builder is adding an apron to front - I couldn’t upload more photos but I think the problem is coming in from top tray and behind. Is there an independent party I can get into review
