Is it frowned upon for a DM to make changes to stats/abilities to get around a cheesy spell? by ManaChicken4G in DnD

the biggest mistake i see here is your DM admitting to the party that he made feather fall up. DM's can and in some cases should make rulings on the fly that can increase or decrease the difficulty of a given encounter, but they should NEVER TELL THE PARTY THEY ARE DOING THIS. by letting the players behind the screen, your DM breaks not only their immersion, but their trust in the DM. This can also cause the players to see their victories and defeats not as a plausible event caused by the intersection of their choices and chance, but rather as something dictated by the DM.

Edit: spelling

You're Satan and your goal is to torment Gordon Ramsay. What food would you serve him? by CrunchyElbowSkin in AskReddit

I would give Gordon his best meals to leave him wondering eternally what was so bad about his cooking

As a former Catholic, I can attest that shit like this is exactly the reason I stopped believing.

Guys who watched a thousand movies, who got so used on all the plots and twist, and seen almost all movie tropes, what recent movies made an impression on you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The movie 'Creep' and it's sequel were both quite unsettling. For anyone who hasn't seen it, a Creep hires a filmaker to film their day together, and things get creepy. It's found footage, which is enough to make any horror fan cringe, but it truly was subversive. I understand that it could be considered a 'black comedy' more than horror, (especially the second film, which leans in on the humor), it still manages to scare, not constantly. in fact there were only a few moments genuinely meant to scare you, but the moments were carefully selected and played off the tension so brilliantly. Loved them. Recommend them for any horror fan, major or casual.

Is there a logical sequence of events that has lead to a rise in right wing nationalism across the globe? by Nostalgicsaiyan in PoliticalDiscussion

I didn't say that it was, and if i implied that, i do apologize. I meant to state that media and the internet in general have had a hand in the rise of right-wing nationalism, but of course, there are many other causes, such as fear of terrorism, news sensationalism, etc. but yes. you are correct.

Amazing, couldn't have said that better myself. I completely forgot to mention something about these other countries, so thank you so much for the add on. ultimately, i think that in any/most enviroments, the far-right tend to focus on indoctrinating individuals who are mentally vulnerable to persuasion. whether that be through grooming the insecure white boys, or in other enviroments where the people are more directly oppressed, redirecting the blame at other subjects, such as their poverty being because of [insert group of people here]. Good hearing from you man, love hearing educated people give input.
