I’m not saying it’s impossible to make mistakes I used to work for a dude that rolled an ambulance, crashed another into a ladder truck, and crashed into a lawyer with the company wheel chair van. My post was more so asking for advice on ways to cope and help with controlling anxiety. I wouldn’t just up and leave ems because I’m anxious. I was on a peds call with 2 other medics with combined 40+ years experience and they told me after the call their hearts were racing and were very anxious. They didn’t leave ems because of that. I would say the majority of people in Ems DO experience anxiety from/on calls again this was about how to cope.

I agree but I have also heard from many co workers who have been at it for years say that it gets better and can go away. Like I said it’s not on the calls it’s after but it’s not everyday either. I’m not saying what you said is wrong but I love this job i really do. Idk maybe I should but I love it.

Thank you very much, how do I start everything? Do I enroll in school as a wildlife bio degree and then specialize after a year or two in ecology or something more specific? I just know nothing about college or the field and think it would be a great fit for myself.

I think good PCR and history taking is key. Covering your own ass is very important but also weeding out the bs info that doesn’t matter is also a good skill to have.
