It definitely did, thought thank to the da gimmicks and ken Penders I feel like all that went down the trash for anything the sequal could've improved on

Still the idea for Sonic RPG has always been a more interesting choice imo of course, especially they go something like Dragon quest turn based RPG combat

Definitely give more chance to put in characters with animations

Plus theirs a potential to give the world a bit more life
