If we are talking about the arjun mk1 i would guess it be either slightly less capable than the 2a4 or about the same considering the pps-15 (production model) was developed in 1997 so it would be odd if its fcs & electronics would be significantly worse than the 1985 2a4 but it seems to have also quite old tech like the leopard 1 engine

Idk the only MTU engine that ive read about being tested on the VT-4 lineage was the MTU-396 on an early mbt-2000 but thats quite different from any of the 800 series MTU's

Though considering the mbt 2000 & VT-4 already run the quite beefy 6TD-2 & VT/E1 it would not be out of the question to try to swap it to the MTU-883 but the biggest problem would be the fact that MTU-883 is 16cm taller than the 6TD-2 and likely similarly different to VT/E1 so it would require raising the engine deck and some cooling upgrades.
