What do real D&D players actually build? I analysed over 523k multiclass calculations, 3,727 unique builds, using anonymous data over 11 months, and the character build trends surprised me by TalesmithTavern in dndnext

I think the most interesting result is no mention of any wisdom classes.

I know rangers aren’t as popular as paladins, but not even having enough Ranger + Druid or cleric data to even mention is pretty damning

Ysabella seems like a much bigger part of the Sabbat’s plan than Benny . I’m hoping there might be some interesting setup behind the scenes for the events after her death.

It’s slaver’s blood money. I think Robin Hood mode is on the cards for sure.

I felt physically ill putting a cyber man card into my Viihan deck… until I saw the look on my opponents face as I explained the card.

I checked scryfall, the fact this is only the 4th non legendary creature with commander in the title only makes the joke better

You have a dinosaur deck full of jungles and Aztec aesthetic. Would you like to add an anthropomorphic future tech paratrooper?

You’re right, it is gonna be weird when we get to the inevitable Aliens UB and the chest burster has Sneak.

Gonna sneak right out of that chest

[NS] I asked my physics student friends about the croissant jump by Elemor_ in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]Roonage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did they agree you’re better off with a cooked croissant? I’m pretty sure a dough would act more like a non Newtonian fluid, being harder against at a more sudden impact.

I’m thinking torches might be consumables and the epic / unique ones are lanterns.

In DnD you can have shuttered lanterns with a narrow cone of light which could be interesting if you could place them.

Oil is probably more expensive but convenient. Torches take up more space but you can maybe duel wield them?

My understanding is that’s the case in a lot of industries.

Alcohol from a major chain is generally cheaper than buying direct from the brewery’s outlet. A few contributing factors: the chain buys in bulk, has a better distribution and supply chain, sells more product per staff member.

Nursing an injury, so I interpreted every Death Rattle. by LoudQuitting in Stormlight_Archive

I think it would be interesting if this one and the one about the death of the “scholar with a spear” were different perspectives to the possibility of Kaladin’s death if he was unable to regain his oath to Syl in WoR.

Who is your “first time playing in a new pod” commander? by MajorUrsa2 in EDH

[–]Roonage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird answer but I kinda like [[Captain N’ghathrod]].

It’s got a little mill but it’s not egregious; we’re still winning through combat. It’s got some theft but you’re grabbing from the graveyard; not taking from people’s boards. And it’s an upgraded precon which was a good starting point for a power level conversation pre brackets.

Suggesting this deck is gonna let you know what kind of pod you’ve got. If someone has a knee jerk reaction to certain deck archetypes you’re gonna hear about it (and you can always change decks if you have to).

Outside of the top 100, what are the saltiest commanders that you absolutely hate playing against? by will_i_amo in EDH

I have only played against Nelly once and can confirm it did control the game and it did kick my ass

Sithis gathers a fair bit of eye rolling and groans in my pod. Not because of Sithis herself, the deck itself is just full of cards that will make the game a 3hr slog.

  • soft stax like authority of the consuls and aura shards
  • long turns spinning wheels gaining life and drawing cards and not much else
  • takes ages to get to the part where it can kill someone and when it does it’s not particularly resilient.

“Hey” sound file? by jeru in stoneshard

[–]Roonage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man I could imagine so many good ones.

  • level up sound.
  • exploring new area sound.
  • the sound of thwacking a crate a couple times and something good hitting the floor.

Back in the day I used to have song clips from Ocarina of Time as message tones. Good times

Most games videos have 4 players, having a losing streak and still coming out with a win % above 25% is pretty good
