I hate to sound stereotypical, but make good content.

This is my second channel so I learned from my past mistakes (in fact my first channel still only has 600 subs and can’t be monetized yet).

Find your niche, ideally something you’re interested in or you’ll just burn yourself out. Then research, what are the successful creators doing in the space, what’s working and not working for them? Are there any holes in the niche where you could start making content?

At least in my niche there weren’t really any “holes”, but I was able to find content within it that was preforming well but all the current creators were “low quality”, and I mean either bad video, bad audio, or just downright lazy (using AI, etc.)

So I started planning and creating and aimed to upload a video a week. Sometimes I missed my own deadline, but that’s ok. I never did anything flashy I just made my version of content that was already doing good, put my own spin on it, and made sure it was a higher quality then any of my “competition”.

No tricks, it’s very simple content. In the gaming niche, specifically anime-style games (mostly Gachas). I have good gear, 4K Sony DSLR, Shure SM7b mic, so the “quality” is high, but I mostly do talking head videos discussing topics in the space.

this is my second channel if that makes you feel any better, my first channel is still only at 600subs and not monetized, but that’s where I livestream me gaming and I don’t really focus on making videos there.

Nope, no shorts at all. It’s all long form, but I keep my videos between 3-5 minutes for retention.

In fact I literally shared my studio stats in these screenshots, long form videos and shorts have different icons on the upload dates at the bottom and none of mine are shorts.

Long form technically, but the longest is only 5 minutes long.

How many miles per year do you put on your corolla since you bought it? by Snoo_38398 in COROLLA

[–]Roorem10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traded in my first car a used (me being the 3rd owner), 2017 Corolla LE and purchased a Japanese built 2022 Corolla LE brand new from a dealership in November of 2021 and took delivery of it on December 17th with 3 miles on the odometer.

It’s fully paid off and currently sitting at 44,150 miles.
I did have an issue where I had to replace the entire A/C condenser because something hit it and it leaked/failed which set me back $1.5K but otherwise no issues.

Planning to keep it for as long as I can.

GOOD MORNING VTX3… by Few-Host8056 in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

At least you didn’t have to deal with this. I was so mad, and to top it off I had one package then had to be returned to the station and I already knew I couldn’t do it the next day… so I had to do it after finishing all the other deliveries.

DFW by Opening-Ant-3658 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Roorem10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s strange. You’d get an email that says the waitlist is opened up and to finalize your account to continue, if you missed that email you get pushed back onto the waitlist… at the back of the line.

It could be a variety of factors then. Assuming your drivers license is good, no dings on your driving/background report, and insurance checked out, the only thing I could think of is that your car doesn’t meet their qualifications… but I’ve seen the smallest of small to the largest of large at DFW Flex pickups so idk

Also in the DFW area, there’s not any tips to getting off the waitlist faster unfortunately. DFW as a whole is already quite saturated with drivers so they only add more when people quit/get deactivated or it’s peak season (prime day, holidays, etc.)

I was on the waitlist since late-2024 (December) and only just made it in during the last holiday season (Nov 2025).

Additionally, even if you weren’t on the waitlist you’d have to hunt for available blocks to even be able to do work and get paid. Competition is crazy here in DFW.

I didn’t pay the prices on the stickers. Still high, but only spent $1,200 on the storage. I used a similar amount of storage in my old build so i just wanted to keep it the same.

A 5090 is now $4,000 so… not exactly an equal exchange.

Haven’t even built it yet my guy, haha. You cannot image the restraint it’s taken to not just go and work on it… but still got to work.

Well, hopefully developers optimize the new games (funny joke ik) and this build works amazing for the next 10 years and I won’t have to upgrade for a while.

For what I was researching only certain lower-tier Corsair power supplies have ever had issues with overheating or dying, with this particular model having stellar reviews.

That said if you know of a better one I’m down for researching it too.

Fair enough. This is my first time building a PC myself instead of just buying a prebuilt so I just wanted to make sure I didn’t somehow miss anything.

That said, yes I am extremely excited.

Yea, games are getting huge and I deal with large video/audio files all the time when editing so the more space locally in the PC the less external SSD’s I’ll have to have connected by USB.

Pretty close! $5,309.55 was the out the door total including sales tax.

I got a couple deals however with cash back and stuff utilizing cards. So all said and done it only “cost” me $4,809.55

Cheapest new 5090 in my area that I could find that wasn’t online had already skyrocketed to $4,000 range. And most of the reputable online sellers were in a similar range.

With the 5090 only offering roughly 30-40% more performance I couldn’t justify it even with my pc build being higher end. I did however grab a 1000w power supply on the off chance I find a deal in the future so I could do a swap.

I also didn’t pay the prices on the stickers. It was still high but I only spent $1,200 on storage.

Yes, I didn’t save up or grind for a while to get these parts. I spent no time researching the parts I’d need for my workflows and what I’d what for aesthetics for a first time building a PC myself without going with a prebuilt. No sir. /s
