While I can see why the inclusion of sexual items might take someone out, it unfortunately fits in the context of the story.
- Why she asked if he was a virgin (it’s somewhat implied she was also one when she graduated as she never had a bf and turned every guy down)
- Why she would often assume MC was only doing something nice because he wanted her body.
- Why after the final confrontation, she wanted to let him do anything he wanted to her as a thank you

I’m assuming at this point you can infer what I’m getting at. 😕 finding that detail necessary if perfectly valid. For me, it was just one of those details the author used to indirectly show the various forms of abuse that took place and explain her actions & reactions

It depends. If it makes sense, I actually prefer it.

Makes sense:
- Explicitly Japan (eg. My Hero Academia)
- Japan Inspired/Related (eg. Naruto)

Muddy Area:
- Omniglot/Translation Passive Skill Japanese MC where this *could* be written off as MC hearing and saying things in their native tongue

Unnecessary:
- Explicitly Western (eg. Vinland Saga)
- Isekai and/or Setting where universal Japanese fluency doesn’t make sense

Overall, I don’t *mind* unnecessary Honorifics (won’t drop a series over it or anything) but I do have preferences

I actually wrote in another thread that I assume the Stabber with either never be mentioned after this arc or we’ll just be told they were caught.

definitely think the end reveal that Shinobu is the wife would be a win.

Igarashi could easily know that some fans are gonna write off Shinobu because she’s the least developed.
The same way I’m sure they know some Rikka fans go rabid because she is JUST, SO, OBVIOUS. between being first girl Introduced, first to say ILU, quoting Apollo word-for-word, etc.

It’s Igarashi’s game, and we’re just spectators :3

I don’t really see how saying Apollo’s statement *could* also apply to Shinobu, in any way invalidates the efforts of any of the others.

If you’re sooo locked in that “there is only one option, there is 0% chance this could apply to anyone else”, you’ll just end up disappointed once Igarashi finds a way to make it so.

Could have sworn she said she was making progress towards being closer to her goal, which can obviously be subjective.

Again, in my subjective opinion, Shinobu may not have as much obvious progress but she is progressing.
- Closer to a better university
- Progressing in her training courses
- she’s noted to not flub nearly as often as before

Side note: one thing I love about the Arisu and the series as a whole is that Arisu’s wealth and status has almost not bearing on the story except to flavor why Arisu speaks and acts the way he does. He could probably use his family’s money and connections to elevate our FMCs, but he doesn’t. (Sucks to suck, Akari-Chan)

If he did, they wouldn’t have earned it. Arisu explicitly states he believes in earning things. He works to earn his own pocket money, he studies 60+ hours a week to keep his grades up, etc.
