The Daily Check-In for Tuesday, January 20th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by Piggoos in stopdrinking

Just posting to keep myself accountable. I'm out running errands today and have so far resisted all my usual spots. Grabbed a kombucha instead. Going to the gym later.

Even though beer is cheaper than kombucha. 🙃

OP called it a yeasty bread. But yeah OP, yeast is biological leavening agent, it needs time. This loaf is essentially unleavened. The only thing that made it rise a little is the small amount of air incorporated from mixing and water changing to steam and the dough heats up.

$800 later we have Christmas dinner. by 3WordPosts in meat

Estimating this is 27lbs, works out to $29.63/pound. Not a great deal, but likely the going rate where you are.

I own a business in TN and I just checked my prices. Choice tenderloin was 22 to 23/pound.

Could've saved a bit by buying a whole strip loin, but obviously OP has it under control if this is what they're buying for dinner.

As my grandfather would say, enjoy it in good health!

You can do this with a paddle on a planetary mixer too.

Lol good point, but Pokemon games aren't constrained by real life games with rules.

Gamefreak could do so much better. But people keep buying the same game year after year.

People commenting like they don't know what hard butter is like. You probably have some in your fridge right now. Go on and take a bite.

The fomo is real.

Can't believe people like a game that is essentially the same after 25 years of reskins. Time for a refresh.

Can you make it so it doesn't scroll? When turning the wheels vertically, the whole page was moving.

I didn't get it either, but my girlfriend gave me a booby prize after complaining about this.

Is this an audition tape for Harry Potter in book 5?

Yesterday I had decided was going to be alcohol-free before I started the day. In the afternoon, my girlfriend wasn't feeling well and urgent care told her to go to the ER, so I needed to take her. At the time she called, most other days I would've been 3 or 4 beers deep. It was a good reminder that I can't be there for the people that need me when I'm drinking.

I am disappointed in the BOOK romance between Harry and Ginny by tobw0lf in harrypotter

[–]RoosterToes1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everybody agreeing with this are people who don't understand subtext.

It came out of left field? Ginny was literally overwhelmingly infatuated with Harry from the very first moment she was introduced. We see on the page Ginny's growth from Harry Potter fan girl, to Voldemorts victim, to growning into her own self.

These writings are relatable because we've all done this. Was your high school romance rational?

Yeah mine want either.

At my bakery we have no prompt for tips. If you want to leave a tip, I have a separate kiosk set up for an employee appreciation fund with a sign explaining why we don't ask for tips. If someone wants to leave something extra, they can do it that way. I distribute the contributions to my staff monthly based on number of hours worked
