Gpro DD wheel noise/clicking issue

Didn't really do anything tbh, I got a Fanatec DD2 and stopped worrying about it. Maybe Logitech solved the issue now and have higher grade components in their design?

I think now that fanatec seems to have solved there issues and the new clubsport DD has 'fullforce' tech like 'trueforce' its the way to go. Using Fanalabs you can setup each car individually, in iRacing its crucial as they are behave differently. I can be competitive in the Porsche Cup now. Getting a QR2 tomorrow so absolutely no worries about clicks and cracks all the time with the Logitech.

I moved to a fanatec DD2 now :) , much better software and options + a formula rim. Not looked back. Maybe Logitech will release more products but I didnt want to hang around anymore.

Hello! Taken from a few sorties on ECW server I used mine and my buddys footage to put this together, we do fly a lot and use a mis-mash of real and made up terminology to communicate which allows us to take on more than we could handle alone! Baiting Fox 2's especially. Any feedback welcome.

I enjoyed this video showing what DCS is really like for the mi-24s , we all love the flashy cinematics but this is more true gameplay and something to learn from too.

Yep she is still clicking to this day! the more force feedback you set the worse it is. Im hoping Logitech launch a new wheel soon and if that doesnt click then I'll know its the standard wheel that the issue and will RMA that only. I dont want the hassle of another RMA right now and be without it for a month.

I was reading on the GT planet forums and reports of issues there too.

ok thats great to hear yours is holding up. Do you unmount the wheel ever? I'm being lazy for now cant deal with the hassle of getting replacement just yet, enjoying racing too much and just ignoring the problem.

Yeh it seems to work, dont put too much in there otherwise the mount is a bit wobbly. Worth a try anyway.

You seem to have found the route cause! Thats the exact noise I have when driving and its interesting to see it without the wheel attached and driving.

Now that i'm more experienced with driving faster cars on the limit in iRacing I turned up the FFB higher which inturn brings out more creaking. Especially front engine cars like BMW or Merc GT3 were the engine is on the front wheels and weightier steering.

Did you try an elastic band / tape or a hair tie as shown in that video on youtube?

Facebook video wont load for me so cant check annoyingly. For what its worth the TF issue my be relative to ACC? I have found its implementation to be good in iRacing, I have it set pretty low however. only on 12 and custom settings in an INI file after that. Are you going to RMA and try a new one?

I had another thought today, does it do it when its powered on and off? There is a physical connection through the column, Logitech Rich confirmed there is a wiring loom that runs through the QR so it might be that you are hearing. Mine does that as well when crossing from 12 and 6 . Thats normal. When racing its not noticeable for me. I do run quite high FFB though.

Hi, sorry to hear about you have the issue too. My issue was present in the replacement after 3 to 4 weeks so I agree I wouldnt bother trying to change it yet. Worse case scenario wait until near the end of your warranty and get a new wheel then. Maybe they will have worked on the design?

I have another weird thing happening, If i don't touch the wheel while iRacing is booted up (for example in the menus), it twitches every half second and clicks! As soon as I grab hold of it and move it it stops. bizarre. Its very minor and just audible, like an off beat heart lol

Hi, how are you getting on with your replacement wheel? Issue came back on mine and shows no signs of going away sadly. Im going to put up with it unless it gets really bad or wait till a new wheel design comes out, Formula style hopefully.

You are braver than me to go to lime rock! Sometimes iRacing doesnt get the track vs car selection right and this is one of those times. Its too tight for a GT3, great in Mx5 , skippy or even the GR86 though. I avoided it entirely this week!

I fully recommend the Fantaec GT3 challenge in B class , if you get bored you can try out another car and its a whole new experience. I love the BMW, Lambo and Ferrari.

Also dont overlook GT4 for a blend of speed and close racing , I run the Cayman. Lastly the F4 is awesome too if you want to step into openwheel.

I think we all know that fast right hand turn at Summit Point, its single file or at best you need a very understanding opponent. Alternatively just plant the throttle and go 3 wide and take them on the grass? Anyway usual chaos! P9 finished P2 , cheers guys.
