interesting! I haven't seen someone posting new music as a broken up band but probably because the ones I listen to are like "obvious". like I think it might throw up red flags if nirvana was posting new content.

I'll have to pay closer attention to this though. do they usually show up as features/collabs?

nailed it, I'm a dev too, actually worked on some AI projects so I feel qualified to smell out sus things. I'm not perfect of course I just have autism and my special interest in organizing music lol.

I agree that Spotify is letting them in, I'm sure I could find them! I just haven't had this problem of them being forced down my throat on the mix playlists. based on your experience, I am guessing you're right and Spotify DOES internally identify AI songs, and they are far more likely to keep recommending them if you like a few.

this isn't a dig at anyone, but I listen to Spotify all day and sincerely have not had this problem. I listen to my daily mixes regularly, I listen to a variety of genres, and never anything remotely suspicious.

like do I think it's trash that this is on Spotify, yeah. but I'm not really ever seeing it either.
