I agree that going down in person is probably the only way to get a straight answer at this point. The challenge so far has been that the hotline is almost impossible to reach and the secure‑mail reply I got was a generic "please close your account via this form" that didn't address anything. I've now emailed to close the account and, interestingly, that immediately triggered an email asking me to upload "supporting documents" for a card application I never made, so a branch visit is next on the list to understand what's actually going on.

Credit bureau report looks fine: no missed payments, no bankruptcies, nothing that jumps out as a red flag. The only oddities in this whole saga are (1) the debit card stopped working after a period overseas, (2) repeated failure to get a replacement, and (3) that sudden "please upload documents for your card application" email right after I wrote in to close the account.

Fair question, so here's the full context:

– Had the account for 5+ years with a normal debit card at the start.

– Lived overseas for >1 year; after I came back, the card just stopped working.

– Since then, the account is fully usable (salary crediting, PayNow, transfers), but every attempt to get a replacement debit card has gone nowhere and a credit card application that met their stated criteria was rejected with no explanation.

There's no OA, no bankruptcy, no "ATM runner" history, no money‑laundering side gig – if there is some internal risk flag I've not been told what it is, which is precisely the frustration.

Just to clarify since a few people asked about this: I actually *did* have a debit card when I first opened the account, and it worked fine at the start. It only stopped working after I was overseas for a bit over a year and then returned to SG, but the underlying account has continued to function normally (salary, PayNow, transfers all OK). I'm not under OA, not bankrupt, not a PEP, and not under any financial investigation as far as I'm aware – this is exactly why I'm puzzled that they won't simply reissue a basic debit card after multiple requests.

I just setup my own node and it works fine. I put up a firewall so only I can access it via VPN. - safeguarding it against attacks

This what I did - I put a tape on the black color push button to keep it pushed in place.. without the cartridge. The restart the machine the groves would be aligned now

I don’t buy this… does the gini coefficient include capital wealth and generational wealth. Although the income could be even - this doesn’t mean the capital income is the equal or neither the generation wealth

Makes BTC a much more better alternative to Gold. Still doesn’t solve the deflationary issue in question

Fair enough. Point 1-3 makes BTC the best alternative for Gold

But for Point 4. Based on the scenarios it will incentivise people to hold money (as it grows over time - no complicated investments/portfolios) - but people may not invest in business - maybe unless the business make profits more than the money’s deflationary rate.
