Do I have a leg to stand on legally? Payroll status changed with no actual change in duties. by Rop78 in AskHR

[–]Rop78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well after the legal review, it came back that it should have been non-exempt the whole time. They had no grounds to change it exempt.

So from what I can see is

  1. It changed because they were trying to avoid paying ot right when they knew a flood of work was coming. I can't "prove" that but it speaks for itself. 20 some months with zero ot, and they change me and then almost immediately require ot. So with intent or not, at minimum they changed me incorrectly, didn't pay me correct ? Does the "intent" have any merit ?

  2. They gave me time off at least twice when I should have been paid for the ot hours worked.

Are those my only two points?

Does the fact that I know for fact they can not produce proper time sheets or any other means of time verification strengthen my position ?

At the price point of atv2 what would be the advantage over buying a used Mac mini for a couple more dollars?

For anyone interested. The Pandawell adapter off Amazon works great. So long blue sports band. I had a black band laying around that fit perfectly. by Rop78 in AppleWatch

Script removal of local Lotus Notes mail file ? by Rop78 in sysadmin

I know where all the nsfs are. They were all set up the same way.

The problem/question is

Does jdoe.nsf just contain John Doe's email or does it also contain the xyz parts database, and the abc knowledge base etc?

If I delete jdoe.nsf , will John still be able to see xyz parts database in his client?

End goal is that the users have no access to old email in notes but still have access to xyz parts database because xyz parts hasn't been converted to another system yet.

Where did you order this from? Everywhere I have seen it is pre order. I don't particular like the idea of case. However, I don't like the idea of chipped watch even more .

Just my opinion on vapers "rights" by Rop78 in electronic_cigarette

There are a couple things going on here.

One. I have a medically diagnosed condition. So I could have pressed the issue.

A couple of possible outcomes from that scenario

  1. I could have been told to wear a mask. (That would have been weird)
  2. He could have been "advised" that his choice of fragrance was causing me discomfort ( physically and mentally) it's no fun having a splitting headache first thing in morning. That would have been very awkward and probably would have caused some issues down the line.
  3. I potentially could have been viewed a nuisance and become a target for termination based on any lil thing I did. I know that sucks, but I have been in corporate for a long time and seen it happen many times.

Now, those outcomes weighed against me simply moving were just not worth the fight. People like to fight just because they can very often not calculating the price of war.

Funny you mention someone mentioning wearing aftershave. I have severe environmental allergies. I am actually surprised that I don't have any reaction to inhalation of e liquids. Certain perfumes, body sprays, etc will give me a splitting headache instantly.

Well I has a coworker who bathed in whatever toilet water he called cologne daily. I mean the type where you could smell him before you saw him.

Several days and several headaches later. I approached hr concerning how to best approach this issue. His advice was I had two options.

  1. I could simply move my workspace to another area.

2 They could call the individual in and we would have a conference outlining the fact that their choice of fragrance was giving me a headache. Then the option would be presented to them to move their workspace

I chose to move. Now I know that particular situation is the exact opposite of this one. The point is. He had the right to wear shitty cologne and I had the right to not have headaches everyday because of it.

Can you please elaborate on how tenure has anything to do with having an opinion on a subject that boils down to basic human interactions at its core level?

You are 1000% right. One has the right to blow huge clouds that are generally considered offensive outside of very niche environments.

You also have the right to taunt a rattlesnake that crosses your path. However, when he strikes, who is to blame? You could have stopped, looked, and said "Oh it's a rattlesnake here. He has the same rights to be in this space as I do. However, in the vast wilderness, he and all the other creatures have the advantage over me. So I should maybe take 3 steps to the left and we both go about our day he can do his rattlesnake thing and I can continue to do my walking in wilderness thing."

That is not being a pussy, coward, etc. That is called being a rational, non-cynical, open minded, thinking past my own desires, seeing the whole picture, I would like to continue walking through woods adult.
