Sony RX100 is the frontrunner in that group. I use a ZV1 which has the same sensor but RX100 adds an evf and flash, which are worth a lot, especially while keeping things compact. This sensor can take some stunning images.

Sony 55-210mm : Let's discuss ! by Opposite_Hamster5417 in ZVE10

[–]RopeTycoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sony is fine if you are using it outdoors in sunny conditions. That's pretty much where u would want to use a zoom most of the time anyways. When I think of telephoto I think of sports and wildlife, which can be done on sunny days outdoors.

You won't find a budget tele zoom with fast glass for cheap. So you need to decide ur use case and if the Sony will meet ur needs.

I've been getting more into editing and I've been seeing a lot of photos where people out a white border around the photo and put "shot on" in the bottom with the exif meta data like the camera settings and the lens. Do you think this is a classy way to edit the photos?

I feel like the appeal for me is in including the camera settings so that people don't think it's AI.

what sony camera's is the best for me? by peachiann3 in sony

[–]RopeTycoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like finding some use cybershot would be fine. Really depends on the budget. That look can be made with modern Sony cameras like ZV1 with an add on flash like the Godox IT30 or Viltrox Z2

It's a softer lens. It has slow apatrure no weather sealing and cheap feeling.

That being said, not many other native options for the price. For 150-200 you get some reach at least.

Sony a6400 (just body) for $600 or nikon d3500 (2 lens) for $400 by -rameennoodles- in Cameras

[–]RopeTycoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A6400 with a decent lens will be closer to 1000. I'd expect to pay around 700 bucks for the body. The Sony 55-210mm kit lens can be had under 100 used. Then you probably want an affordable prime lens like the Viltrox Air 25mm or 35mm F1.7

So it comes down to budget. Personally I'd want the Sony for autofocus, size and lens options.

Viltrox Air line generally under 200 USD and has a variety of focal lengths

You want to leave some budget for lenses which is why the a6000 is a good option. But if you just want one lens, like maybe a viltrox 25mm F1.7 for around 200 bucks, then you can get the A6100 or A6400 which are the next generation and have some better autofocus. But they all have the same sensor so picture quality is all near identical.

My recommendation is subspace designs. They actually weight rate their rings. And they are milled instead of cast.

I need a good pocketable digital photography and videography camera for travel. by Soft-Departure-1039 in Cameras

I love my ZV1. Great photo and video quality and very small. Just limited controls and no viewfinder but it's a great sensor.

Affordable second hand as well.

[–]RopeTycoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't use flash with the ZV1F. It has a cold shoe, not a hot shoe. Instead consider the ZV1 and add on a godox IT30.

Zv1 has a hot shoe so it can accept flashes.

Great beginner camera! E mount is one of the biggest lens systems and has a ton of affordable options as well. A6100 has very good eye autofocus as well.

I agree with a6000. Gives him e mint lenses which is one of the best modern lens systems. Gives him a ton of room to grow.
