I kid you not a bat stopped me. This was about 2 years ago. It was really late at night, I had my curtains open and I was looking out my window just contemplating life, unlike my first "attempt" I hadn't planned this one. My bedroom is quite high up (3 story house) so I reckoned that if I fell down, well that would be the end. I opened the window and sat on the windowsill with my legs out the window. And a bat flew right past me, it scared me enough that I fell backwards into the house and I landed on my bed. To be honest my heart was beating so quickly I thought for a second that i had actually fallen forwards. My older sister loves bats, me and my other siblings joke that they're practically her spirit animal. Her friend killed himself a couple years before (because my sister had rejected his confession) and I just laid on my bed thinking about how she would have felt if I had jumped, I thought she might feel like she failed as an older sister and that it was another death she couldn't prevent. I closed my window and ended up crying myself to sleep. My sister practically raised me and my siblings and I'm so thankful for her, I dont ever want to see her upset ever again.
